Ah Saudi Arabia.
They have invented a thing they call a girls’ council, which is apparently a place for men to show off their fashion sense.
See, it says Girls Council right there on the sign, so we can’t blame a faulty translation. There’s the Girls’ Council, and there are all the men, looking manly.
The male-dominated photos have been circulating widely on social media, after the meeting took place on Saturday.
It has been compared to another viral hit – an image of US President Donald Trump, surrounded by men, signing an abortion policy in January.
It’s a proud tradition, men deciding what women can and can’t do. Trump can barely write his own name, but he gets to tell us what we can and can’t do.
It’s not just that there are “men deciding what women can and can’t do”. It’s “men deciding what women qua women can and can’t do”. It’s men (and only men) making decisions about things that are only relevant to women, BECAUSE they are women. And the reason they believe they have the right to do so is because they believe God said the ones with the penises, testes and the sperm get to control the ones with vaginas, uteruses and ova (for their own good of course). Conveniently, it was the ones with the penises, testes and sperm who got to invent God (big boss man in the sky) in the first place. It’s all just so neat and tidy!
They’re sowing revolution.
Give it time.

People of color, women, homosexuals, transgendered, won’t stand for it.

It reminds me of the (homeschooled?) kids I see every Tuesday in front of the Bellevue Planned Parenthood when I’m driving home from a meetup. These boys, about 10 years old, waving signs that say “Honk 4 Life.” I always wonder if anyone could possibly have less authority to speak about abortion than a 10-year-old boy. A nine-year-old boy, I guess.
