Off with their heads
Kellyanne Conway thinks journalists who diss Trump should be fired.
Kellyanne Conway, senior adviser to President Donald Trump, on Sunday continued the administration’s attack against the media by claiming that network television reporters and commentators who “talked smack” about Trump before the election should be fired.
“Not one network person has been let go. Not one silly political analyst and pundit who talked smack all day long about Donald Trump has been let go,” Conway said on “Fox News Sunday.” “I’m too polite to mention their names, but they know who they are, and they are all wondering who will be the first to go. The election was three months ago. None of them have been let go.”
She added that the networks should be “cleaning house,” firing “these people who said things that just weren’t true.”
Also throwing them in prison perhaps? Torturing them? Confiscating their goods?
Conway accused the media of focusing too much attention on her attempt last week to defend press secretary Sean Spicer flagrantly lying to reporters — by claiming he was stating “alternative facts.”
Too much according to whom?
She’s calling for people to be fired for saying things that weren’t true. And she’s working for whom, again?
HAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAH!
Untrue ABOUT THE GODMAN COME TO EARTH.
I’d like to say this is unfucking believable, but just about any shit these people pull is believable (in the sense that they are doing it, obviously not in the sense of their justifications)
I keep being surprised though.
The media should say that try are providing “alternative alternative facts”.
Well, it’s not western government behaviour as we know (knew) it, that’s for sure. There I go being all ‘liberal elite’ again though. Maybe we live at the beginning of a new post-government age. SAD.
George Will is no longer employed at Fox.
Pointing out that she’s factually incorrect is almost beside the point, but, that did happen.
I can’t believe how quickly this has all happened. I hope, for all our sakes, that if/when your government returns to sanity that measures will be taken to prevent this from happening again. I know a lot depends on an educated, engaged electorate, but one would have hoped there would have been a bit more protection of the system from this kind of assault. At least current communications technologies allow for better organized resistance. This is scary shit. I hope that enough people within the departments of government can and are willing to act for what is right and not what is ordered. Not that I think it would come to this, but I’m thinking about the military in particular. Cutting the military and intelligence communities out of NSC meetings might be bad for Trump in more than just the obvious ways.
#2 , Ophelia, I read initially as GODAMN COME TO EARTH.
More accurate as far as I’m concerned.
I find it impossible to think about her without the Alternative Facts song playing in my head and, subsequently, on all my machines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdV_8TGswRA
Yet another tantrump which I define as the use of government resources by the president to throw their fucking toys out of their fucking prams and pretend someone else did it.
Especially worrying is the inept but obviously very deliberate gas-lighting.
“These people haven’t been fired!” Not “Why haven’t these people been fired?” or heaven forbid “Why should these people be fired?”
Note the exclamation mark on one of those statements, the question mark on the others.
I can see why Trump likes her.
Lincoln called this “mobocracy” as I recall, this phase we’re entering, wherein the “rule of law” no longer applies or has purchase on the common mind. And I don’t believe cajoling folks back to law-abiding ways is any easy matter, thinking here about the border personnel who feel that they themselves at whim can disregard the courts. But what laws has the President-elect not seen to disregard? The law of physics may get him but not without a lot of collateral damage.
Which is ironic, since the Trump voters tend to consider themselves in the “Law and Order” group – tough on crime, tough on criminals. The problem is, they believe law and order has a different meaning than the rest of us believe.
