Let it be an arms race
Now Trump is saying yes, hell yes, he wants another nuclear arms race. Bring it on, he says, because we have the biggest dick in the universe.
President-elect Donald J. Trump on Friday welcomed a new nuclear weapons arms race, vowing in an off-camera interview with a television host that America would “outmatch” any adversary. The comment came one day after he said in a post on Twitter that the United States should “strengthen and expand” its own nuclear capabilities.
The president-elect escalated his comments about nuclear weapons with the show of bravado during a brief, off-air telephone conversation from his estate in Florida, according to Mika Brzezinski, a co-host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program.
“Let it be an arms race,” Mr. Trump said, according to Ms. Brzezinski, who described her conversation with the president-elect on the morning news program moments later. Mr. Trump added: “We will outmatch them at every pass and outlast them all.”
We have a narcissist with a mental age of 3 in charge of this.
I am so terrified. I don’t know what to do.
I often feel similarly terrified, Josh…but I have generalised anxiety, so I’ve often felt terrified, irrationally fixated on things I cannot change. The best advice I have is to breathe, to focus on what you have now, on spending however many moments you’ve got left as well as you can, for whatever that means to you. Make them count, whether you’re with your loved ones or on your own. And remember to breathe.
Good advice, Seth. I’m an anxiety patient, too (panic disorder). Right now Xanax is a god-send. And I’m writing letters and cards, which I haven’t done in years.
If it makes you feel any better (it won’t), it was above freezing at the North Pole this morning, so maybe a nuclear winter is just what the doctor ordered.
And every day, we have to hear the perky news women on the local station going on and on about how wonderful it is so warm – in Nebraska, in December. In a normal year, with average temperature, I could agree with that – a warm day is wonderful and welcome. In the current world, it’s scary as hell, and especially considering the people who are about to be in charge of making policy.
