Faces
Trump gets angry at the news media when they publish unbecoming photos of him. In general I think people should not be attacked on the basis of how they look, but the thing about Trump is that he’s so very often making horrible faces in aid of making some horrible point. I don’t think the news media are stooping or being cruel when they publish photos of that kind.
It would help the media be nicer to him if he actually gave them opportunities to take pictures of him not making a face, but I’ve watched all the debates and many rallies/speeches, and I saw few times that he was not making one of these faces, or others just as bad. They would have to stand in one position for hours, and be on constant preparation to “snap” in order to catch the brief moments of “nice face” that come by.
Well, all he needs to do is act like a Statesman…
Maybe he could take lessons from Obama.
It’s not just that he’s always making ugly faces while saying ugly things. It’s that he ridicules people he doesn’t find attractive enough. For me, that’s what makes this fair game.
I think these will really look the business mounted on the wall in schools and government buildings – preferably YUGE with gold coloured, plastic frames. I can’t wait for the looping video of him gurning away, welcoming visitors to the USA stuck in line for an hour at border crossings and airports, intercut with clips of wildlife, national parks and street parades.
Knowing how much he dislikes unflattering portraits and whined that he did not win the popular vote (“If the election were based on total popular vote I would have campaigned in N.Y. Florida and California and won even bigger and more easily”) I think it’s right to remind him of these things as often as possible.
They’re all his face; it’s not like they’ve done anything but record his own expressions. Just like it’s “not fair” to quote his actual words. By truthfully reporting his own speech, his awfulness is apparent. Real news about him is dreadful and scandalous without embellishment; no fake news needed to show him in a bad light. Fake news is needed to make him look good (or smart, or successful or statesmanlike or competent…) If he has any redeeming qualities or pleasantness in him, they are well hidden.
The alternative to his ‘resting angry face’ and the ‘resting smug face’…

Active goofy face? Miming out a tweet face? Unaware of how cameras work face?
He can’t resist mugging. He *likes* making ridiculous faces as he talks. They run with what he gives them.
