Yes. One must be a cis woman, a trans woman, a femme woman, a butch woman, a non-binary woman . . . but not a woman simpliciter. It seems to me that that’s an unfortunate side effect of trans ideology: by insisting that women are either trans or cis, it’s harder to defend the claim that “trans women are women, period”, because no one is is a “woman, period”. We would have to do away with both “trans” and “cis” to have women that are women simpliciter.
