No one helps
Tarek Fatah tweeted this yesterday. It’s painful to watch.
I especially hate the way she hugs the yellow bag to her for comfort for a few seconds, as if it were a teddy bear – she’s so alone and so comfortless.
Indian Muslim punches wife sitting next to him on a train, shrink-wrapped in a head-to-toe Arab hijab. No one helps https://t.co/OFiyKLuxSE

What a pathetic male. And as one comment said; ‘imagine what life must be like for her at home’
Probably feels MORE like abusing in public. To parade his Manly Muslimitude.
And as Fatah notes, the hijab-jilbab-burqa-whatever that she’s buried in is pure fancy-dress. A costume as phony as if she were dressed up as a cowgirl, or super-hero tights. The ‘arabization’ (really Saudification) of Muslims across the globe is an actual MOVEMENT. A sinister, directed thing.
I doubt we can reasonably pin it all on Wahhabism – men have been punching women for a long time, because humans are dumb that way – they think being bigger is the same thing as having a right to dominate.
What I really hate about this is her helpless agonized reaction – her gestures and movements to try to soothe the pain, regather a little dignity, soothe the hurt feelings, cope for the next few minutes, feel less alone and helpless and miserable. I’ve watched it twice and find it unbearable.
Well, I watched it once and I still feel appalled and sick every time I think about it. I got the distinct impression that was not a one-off and the poor women’s reaction….
I have many faults, hitting people is not one of them. I can’t understand people who use it as a routine method of enforcing dominance and control. [1]
[1] I can understand it as a manner of achieving dominance and control, I just can’t understand why anyone with respect for themselves or other people would…
