Nope. Wrong. Incorrect. Not true.
DEAR WHITE AND NON-BLACK FEMINISTS
this symbol does not represent mainstream feminism
Ohhhhhhhh yes it does.
That symbol goes back to the 60s – it was the radical salute, including but not limited to the black power salute.
this is the symbol for black feminism, that black feminists have created and been using for decades to represent our struggle against anti-black misogyny, hence the combination of the black power fist and the symbol for womanhood.
No, it isn’t. It’s the symbol for in your face feminism, including black and Hispanic and lesbian feminism, but not limited to any of them.
so stop tattooing yourself with this symbol and selling overpriced patches and pins on etsy, you are appropriating and profiting off the work of black feminists.
No.
No, the symbol is not limited to black feminists, it never has been.

The raised fist was a symbol of the IWW at least as far back as 1917.
Pieter;
I hadn’t heard a Wobbly connection before. As the ‘anti-Fascist salute’ the raised fist was iconic in the Spanish Civil War.
Alethea, the article you linked explains some things to me. I’ll give this quote bullets to highlight a pattern without necessarily using the labels of radical versus liberal:
The second bullet correlates with people attributing Ophelia’s actions to “hatred, phobia, bigotry, and the unwillingness to acknowledge the gender identity of people….” There’s a saying, “If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail” (i.e. if you have a hammer and a screw, then you hit the screw like it’s a nail). Adam Savage said a variation in his talk at the Reason Rally, “I believe that inside every tool is a hammer” (i.e. I confess I’ve used a wrench as a hammer). Researching these sayings, I find, “Give a small boy a hammer, and he will find that everything he encounters needs pounding.” That would explain why some people seem to feel Ophelia needs pounding.
A related saying is, “All models are wrong, but some are useful.” I see the value of the two bullets above as models, but using the second bullet to demonize Ophelia pushes a model beyond a valid description.
Getting back to the title of this thread, I wish everyone could at least maintain their awareness that other systems of thought exist.
