“her invaluable work…her message and expertise…kindly agreed…continues to stand in solidarity…sends her best wishes…reaffirming her belief…we hope to collaborate with her”
It would be nice if people knew what feminism was. They think they can just hijack the term and subsume it under trans ideology, just like they do with gay rights. I’m hoping there’s enough old school feminism left to battle the trans disease. Some days it looks like it, other days, like wtf? There has to be a certain level of sheer stupidity required to aquiesce to trans ideology. Right, “TERFs” are not *your* feminists, but they are the only actual feminists left.
I rather like the fact that he’s now calling the march a “terf fest”. The organizers will learn that despite their earlier invitation to him, despite their super diplomatic and affirming words in rescinding of the invitation, and despite having “trans rights” front and centre in the march… all it takes to be called a TERF is to say no to any transwoman about anything. Maybe they will question the assumption that anybody who gets called a TERF is an evil bigot, now that it’s happened to them, and be more open to what the other TERFs are actually saying and doing.
twiliter: I blame the insertion of the phrase, “Feminism helps men, too” into the discourse. A lot of self-identified male feminists made it about the benefits that men (especially gender nonconforming men) would receive in a more feminist society–which was true, but also irrelevant to the actual merit of the movement, which was about achieving equality for women.
It’s why I do not call myself a feminist, but rather, ‘a supporter of gender-critical feminism’. I don’t expect the women in the movement to look to me for leadership, nor to trust me to not turn out to be a hypocrite, because I know how often that has led to disaster, or at least disappointment.
