You know what else is an absolute necessity?
President-elect Donald Trump shared his renewed interest Sunday in the U.S. controlling the autonomous territory of Greenland, which is owned by Denmark.
“For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity,” Trump wrote in a statement announcing that he had chosen Ken Howery to serve as ambassador to Denmark.
In other words Trump told Greenland and Denmark and the world that he intends to take Greenland by force.
He floated the idea last time he was “president” and Greenland said no you won’t.
At that point, Denmark said that Greenland was not for sale, which caused Trump to cancel a trip he had scheduled to the country. He said in a tweet that Denmark is “a very special country with incredible people, but based on Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s comments, that she would have no interest in discussing the purchase of Greenland, I will be postponing our meeting scheduled in two weeks for another time.”
Can we buy Trump and put him in a very small prison with no amenities?
we can only hope this is like the wall that was never fixed. Once he had his dose of narcissistic supply he does tend to lose interest and wander off to see what else he can find in the playground. (It’s just a shame that Trump’s playground is the whole frikkin world. Stand by USA for a whole lotta isolation.)
A trillion plus dollars worth of “National Security and “Freedom”” that the taxpayers would have to pay for and could care less about. Of course solving problems here in the US with that much money is out of the question. He wants to make history in dramatic fashion, not solve problems closer to home, that’s too boring. Trump and Musk have to prioritize their vanity projects in order to satisfy their grotesque egos. Let’s fund those projects by cutting existing government services that benefit US citizens! How? By creating a government spending watchdog bureaucracy (which would also need funding), then go to Mars, and then buy Greenland! — all on the taxpayer’s dime! Sounds like a plan, eh? Fkn idiots.
It’s not a problem! Denmark is a founding member of NATO, if the US attacks Greenland NATO is honour bound to defend Denmark:)
I almost – but not quite – want to to see that demand to NATO by Denmark, just to see how the other members react to the US being the clear aggressor! There’s no way Starmer would do anything except roll over:(
That’d certainly accomplish Putin’s long term mission of rendering NATO effectively non-binding.
This is probably just one more thing to get the media classes in a lather while he goes off and does something else vile but more substantive.
I guess that part of his fixation is because he believes Greenland to be huge as it looks huge on standard Mercator projection maps…
Hahahahahahaha that’s probably true.
