Obviously?
Wait a minute let me stop you right there.
Fox bro: “…the mainstream media picked up on the comic’s comments, which were offensive, been denounced by the campaign n everybody else, what went on with that?” Sleazybarbie, talking like a weary mommy adjudicating a squabble between toddlers: “Look, it was a comedian who made a joke in poor taste.” Well ok then. “Obviously that joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or our campaign”
Wait wait wait Sleazybarbie, what do you mean “obviously”? What’s obvious about it? What, exactly, is in any way obvious about your claim that blatant racist “humor” does not reflect Trump’s “views”?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN “OBVIOUSLY”?????
What puzzles me is why anyone would begin to think that the ‘jokes’ of that ‘comedian’ were funny – and the crowd there didn’t appear to find them funny either: hardly anybody seemed to laugh. What happens at other venues? What does this ‘comedian’ get paid fees for? As for being ‘edgy’ – what is that? It is something that is done at that peculiar, and what I think is a peculiarly American, institution, a ‘roast’ – whose point seems to be that any offensive or off-colour remark automatically becomes hilariously funny by virtue of being uttered in a certain kind of environment. So when he introduced Trump at the black-tie dinner organised for charity by the catholic diocese of New York, the ‘comedian’ who was master of ceremonies conflated the tape of Trump bragging about grabbing women by their genitals with the cats of Springfield, Ohio, and talked about ‘grabbing kitties’. And many, if not most, of the well-heeled audience tittered in response. I don’t know whether the cardinal did. Melania certainly didn’t.
