More of a “Can you just hold on a little longer while I set up my new grift and then I’ll be out of your hair, promise” sort of thing, I suspect. As latsot points out in the thread the company’s very much non-unique selling point is “We’ll do some good/cool stuff with EVs (and we even have some vague ideas about how it might work)”. Except all this stuff is already being done by far bigger players who have actual expertise (or has been tried and failed). But there will be fools who will fall for it and Wadhwa will probably walk away from it with a healthy bank balance.
‘…we are a company that stays true to our purpose and our vision to be a kind company that believes in equality for all, to our colleagues, our customers and the planet, that believes in a future where places will be better connected and smarter to deliver services to residents, a future in which electric mobility, mobility hubs and autonomous vehicles will be used as a service and contribute to the sustainability of our world.’
Sounds like its chief products are going to be putting together mission statements, eco-utopian slogans, and motivational posters. Maybe they’re hoping Wadwha will help them tick a couple of “diversity” boxes. I can’t imagine he has any skills related to EVs and making places “better connected and smarter.” Any place he ends up is going to be bullied, intimidated, and fearful, as he follows his own agenda, to the detriment of whatever the actual goals are of the organization he lands in.
I don’t think they need to tick any “diversity” boxes since all but one of their people appear to be of south Asian ancestry. Which is fine, but it does make it clear that Wadhwa’s soft landing is courtesy of his mates.

I guess he doesn’t have to reframe his trauma to center someone who isn’t him.

Um… and just what does this company actually DO?
