The shock of the real
Trump failed to impress a roomful of greedy CEOs.
Former President Donald Trump failed to impress everyone in a room full of top CEOs Thursday at the Business Roundtable’s quarterly meeting, multiple attendees told CNBC.
“Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about,” said one CEO who was in the room, according to a person who heard the executive speaking. The CEO also said Trump did not explain how he planned to accomplish any of his policy proposals, that person said.
Several CEOs “said that [Trump] was remarkably meandering, could not keep a straight thought [and] was all over the map,” CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin reported Friday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”
Dementia speeding up?
I read a transcript of his shark fantasy, and it appeared to be rather less sensible than anything my parents-in-law said towards the end of their decline (both succumbed to vascular dementia, almost a decade apart). It appears to my far-from-expert eye that his thoughts are scrambled, he has no filters, he speaks aloud whatever weird phrases are bouncing across his cranium through whatever is left of his cerebral cortex, and is incapable of understanding the reactions and responses of other people. I’ve read that narcissists have a tough time with aging anyway, but with dementia as well?
Good point. Dementonarcissism: really bad combination.
Has anything changed in this regard from his last kick at the can? How was he going to bring all of those companies back from overseas back in 2016? They left the US for cheap labour, lower standards, and higher profits. Hell, Trump did that himself for his brand’s own products. All those jobs that got outsourced were eliminated by rich dudes like himself, trying to keep as much of their money as possible. They weren’t going to help Trump Make America Great Again by bringing those jobs bacK. Not if it was going to cost them money. That part of the ebbing of America’s supposed greatness can be laid directly at the feet of these very same CEOs, Trump included.
