How dare you doubt the legitimacy of non-binary as an identity slash entire personality. Can’t you see the short haircut??
I marvel that the theys don’t see the implications here. If marginally pushing back against the female stereotypes = not a woman, then being a woman – or perhaps, being a woman correctly – necessarily requires conformity to the stereotypes.
She’s not “writing her own script”, she’s writing ours, trying to put lies in our mouths.

Holms, that’s exactly it. Feminism fought against the stereotypes; they are just telling us to identify out of them. You can’t really be a woman unless you are stereotyped, so the bulk of women must be non-binary. I’ve never known any woman who fit all the stereotypes. If we all declare ourselves non-binary, would they begin to see the ridiculousness? No, they’d probably have us investigated/arrested for transphobia, for mocking them.
Looks like a young wooman to me.

Fifty years ago, Patti Smith wore a man’s suit for the cover of one album; she showed armpit hair on the cover of another. She’s never claimed to be anything but what she is: a woman.
LM, over the years I’ve know a few women who didn’t remove or trim body hair because they just didn’t want to. They quite rightly maintained that they shouldn’t have to do so just to please men and societal expectations of sex stereotyping. Quite right too. I really just can’t get in the heads of all these people who are per formatively going on about breaking stereotypes, when they’re the goddamn ones making those stereotypes the frame of reference.

But if she’s non-binary, why would she wear men’s underwear? Man is part of the binary, after all. Why do so many NBs take the stereotypes of the opposite sex? That’s about as binary as it gets! Wow. Trying to understand this could make your head hurt, couldn’t it?
iknklast, I think “being female” is on one side of the scale, so the men’s underwear has to go on the “masculine” side, causing the scales to balance perfectly and the little arrow to point exaclty at “nonbinary”. It’s very sciency.
