Oh no she compared a man to a man
Shock horror as woman compares a straight white bloke to a straight white bloke.
Author JK Rowling has been accused of cruelty for mocking the world’s first openly transgender football manager, comparing her to a ‘straight, white, middle-aged bloke’. The transgender referee is the first trans manager in the top five divisions of English Women’s football.
But he’s not a trans manager, he’s a trans man. He’s a real manager. The owners wouldn’t let him be a manager if he were a trans one, they need the real thing.
In the [tweet], JK Rowling said: When I was young all the football managers were straight, white, middle aged blokes, so it’s fantastic to see how much things have changed.’ Social media users were quick to blast the author calling the author’s post ‘cruel’.
Cruel shmuel. A guy who’s brazen enough to pretend to be a woman is not going to cry himself to sleep because people know he’s a man.
Pride posted a photo of the referee with her famous pink whistle and a red card with her dark brown hair falling waves around her shoulders.
HAhahahahaha the Mail is trolling. Obvious wig is obvious.
Ugh. I know lookism is a mortal sin, and I am certainly no prize in the looks department but….
Pink whistle is definitely female. Definitely.
The pink whistle looks like a child’s toy, not the whistle that conveniently wraps around fingers to ensure it hasn’t fallen to the ground when needed.
Red card? Women need to show home the red card if he gets anywhere near their changing rooms.
But the wig looks nice …
But Rowling’s actual wording is not comparing him to a straight, white, middle-aged bloke, she’s comparing him with one. As read,
is a compliment. They are choosing to interpret it as insulting.
The terminology in this whole gender ideology nonsense is confused and twisted, deliberately so. Thus:
He’s a real man (thus not a “trans man” in the same sense), too. He’s not a real woman. I know what you meant, of course. I wouldn’t want to call him a “trans woman” or “transwoman”, either, but I think that fits the pattern you are trying to make.
I hate this crap. He is a man, not a woman, and it should be OK to refer to him that way.
The thing about lookism and how he looks and all that – the reality is he’d look perfectly fine, in a classic rough-hewn kind of way, if he threw away the wig and the fake tits. Not poster boy but quite all right – your basic John Thaw (Morse) type. That’s no doubt unfair and painful for men who like clothes that look better on women, but it’s true.
Sackbut ya in that particular instance I meant he’s a man who is trans as opposed to a manager who is trans aka fake.
The big gushy smile doesn’t suit him, either. No doubt he thinks women do big gushy smile a lot so he has to too. It just looks silly.
Of course the cultists are interpreting JKR’s tweet to mean that she’s saying that he’s obviously a straight white man, because that’s what they see, too. A farce is exactly what it is, when everyone in the cast, crew, and audience knows perfectly well who is the villain, but the cast are berating the audience for booing whenever he appears.
Exactly. The perception of sarcasm and the imputation of any supposed “cruelty” are completely dependent on the knowledge and admission that this Lucy Clark” is a straight white man. Rowling’s critics are all voicing their inherent “transphobia.” Fucking brilliant! Chef’s kiss.
Yes it’s all part of the self-policing that such performance requires. Women don’t have to “do” anything particular, or wear anything in particular in order to be women they just are. There are no boxes to tick off, no tests to pass, no costume to don.
It’s strange how men claiming to be women can put so much energy and expense on the superficial, stereotypical appearances and behaviours, yet put so little effort into supressing their male entitlement and self-centeredness, falling at the first hurdle by pushing their way into female spaces, betraying their male socilaization and aggressiveness. But then if they were polite, or- God forbid- kind about this, they wouldn’t gain the things they’re pushing for at all. Politeness and knidness are for others. They want what they want, and they want it NOW.
ISN’T IT THOUGH?!!
Is it, though? Transition is literally about the self. It’s definitionally a self-centered phenomenon, based on an assumption of entitlement to not just spaces and benefits and language, but to the perceptions and thoughts of others.
Yes, and it’s strange.
Strange, and containing a massive internal contradiction. If, as is claimed, a trans woman has always been a woman then by their rules his body, behaviour and mannerisms have always been that of a woman, so there’s no need to change anything but the name. On the one hand, they say that a woman can have a penis, on the other hand they have that penis cut off in order to look like a woman.
Excellent points. But there’s still the issue of how to explain the acceptance of their pretense of womanhood by so many. How does the thinnest application of stereotypical “womanface” make up for the complete lack of the basic, and again stereotypical, markers of female socialization?
In World War Two, in the run-up to D-Day, the Allies used crude decoy trucks, tanks, and aircraft to fool the Germans into thinking that the imminent invasion of France would be launched across the Pas de Calais rather than in Normandy. These phantom units looked convincing from thousands of feet, and were good enough to pass for the real thing in high altitude photos, but would have fooled nobody on the battlefield. Flash forward eighty years, and somehow, governments and corporations have surrendered to crude decoys of women. Institutions which have always known exactly who and what women were have now, seemingly, been taken in by lipstick and bad wigs, giving away women’s rights, with a wink and a nod, to any guy effecting a pout and a tilted head, even as they indulged in aggressively assertive behaviour that would have traditionally been condemned as “unwomanly”.
Great metaphor.
