Grave concern about structural barriers
UN Human Rights High Commissioner issues a slimy manipulative statement pretending to defend women’s rights while actually stamping on them.
Expressing grave concern about structural barriers to sport faced by women and girls in all of their diversity, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and other gender diverse persons and intersex persons, a group of UN experts* today issued a policy position urging States and other stakeholders to respect the right of all to participate in cultural life through sports and games and to tackle discrimination against, and enforcement of equal treatment of all athletes, especially women and girls in all their diversity, LGBT and intersex persons.
This of course means the opposite of what it appears to mean. It doesn’t mean women and girls in all of their diversity, it means women and girls plus men and boys who claim to be women and girls. It’s that grotesquely twisted.
They also urged States to review standards of inclusion of intersex and trans persons to ensure compliance with human rights obligations and the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
In other words the bit about women at the beginning was just trickery. The real point is to destroy women’s sports for the sake of men who are willing to call themselves women in order to get medals and prizes they would otherwise have no hope of getting.
The experts also expressed concern at attempts to use the male-female categorisation in sport to argue for the exclusion of trans women and women with intersex variations from female categories, and the recent intensification and instrumentalisation of this debate, which has led to the adoption of restrictive measures in law and public policy by State institutions and sporting bodies alike.
In other words they expressed concern at attempts to keep women’s sports for women.
“Categoric exclusions of trans and intersex women from women’s sports is a prima facie violation of human rights obligations under the principle of non-discrimination, and their right to privacy,” the experts said.
LIKE HELL IT IS. The violation of human rights obligations is letting men infiltrate women’s sports.
“We are also deeply worried by the accompanying, oftentimes offensive, and even hateful targeting of trans and intersex persons in social media and public discourse, especially as it links to their sense of self and bodily autonomy, as those actions impact their physical and mental integrity,” they said.
What about women? What about women? What about women, you absolute scumbags? Why are you not deeply worried about women and their sense of self and bodily autonomy and physical and mental integrity????
That subset of “trans and intersex women” which are actually women aren’t being excluded from women’s sports. Only that subset of “trans and intersex women” which are actually men are being excluded.
And why the heck does this little group of extremists get to speak for the UN? Are all the member nations of the UN really okay with that?
That isn’t just nonsense, it’s poorly written nonsense. Is that first paragraph you quoted really all one sentence? Or am I missing something?
If anyone had ever taken women’s rights as seriously as they take ‘trans inclusion’, we would have broken the glass ceiling by now.
Here are the experts the asterisk in the OP referred to:
Victor Madrigal-Borloz we’ve met here before (https://www.butterfliesandwheels.org/?s=Victor+Madrigal-Borloz).
I wonder what the trio of Elizabeth Broderick, Melissa Upreti, and Meskerem Geset Techane thought of all of this, as surely, one would hope, they must know exactly who women and girls are. But, it is the UN, so one’s hopes should be kept to modest skills such as knowing up from down and right from left (though I’d still be cautious asking any of them for directions).Statements like the above only serve to tarnish the UN’s reputation. Example #3,720,807 of my observation that “Any organization that embraces trans activism goes to shit.”
For some reason I find the wordy, naive optimism of ” Special Rapporteur on the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health” mildly amusing. Of course this also sounds like it could be the title of some North Korean official whose task it is to quell food protests and complaints about the government.
There’s a classic Twilight Zone episode, ‘It’s a Good Life’, where this little kid controls reality and everyone around him has to conform to it or face dire consequences. A generation raised on participation trophies has made that our shared reality. “There are no guarantees in this life”, has been replaced by, “I want it, so all must help me get it.” My reality is the only real reality – the rest of you are just props.
This debate in sport is a perfect example. There is a collision between what is defined as fair. A minority that have gender dysphoria and want to compete in their personally chosen class vs the majority where my sex pretty much defines my options for competing. These options are mutually exclusive. Somebody has to be disappointed. In a functioning society that has to be as few as possible, with compassion for the rest. Sometimes life sucks. Just the way it is. Move on.
It’s more than that though. It’s not just that there are far more women than there are trans women – it’s also that trans women are men. What they want is inherently unfair, and justified by a fantasy. They lose on the merits long before they lose on the numbers.
So it’s okay to categorize sports as male and female, but not okay to exclude males from female sports. Unless they’re saying that trans women aren’t male (which they probably are.)
For a long time, TW were male but it was cruel to mention it. That gradually morphed into “‘male’ and ‘female’ are fuzzy, sloppy, inaccurate categories so let’s throw them out in ordinary discourse.” Then it was TWAF.
The basic rule was Give Them What They Want.

Their usual tactic is rather to divide sports into men’s and women’s, paired with the claim that men and women are words that refer to gender identity. The old notion that men and women are male and female is rubbished as western imperialist colonialist heteronormative bigoted prejudicial thinking. TRAs are merely returning the world to the old untrammelled meanings of man and woman, supposedly witnessed in every culture but western Europe.
I wonder if the UN is also concerned about the systemic structures that prevent one country from taking over another’s territory? I mean, Russia feel they have made a compelling case for why they should have Ukraine. China feels it has a right to Taiwan and the South China Sea. There are times when I feel some sympathy for the view that the UN should be defunded. Unfortunately there are things it does that are good that means we probably shouldn’t burn it to the ground, but by f*** I’d like to defund these people.
