Both sides in this Arab-Israeli conflict have separate issues on which one side is right, and one side wrong. However, there can be no defence for the deliberate killing by Hamas of innocent non-combatants: specifically, women and children. Nor by Israel on the same (perhaps lesser) score.
In the Hamas Islamic fundamentalist case, I suggest that the religious beliefs of these fanatics can be used against them.
I suggest a prior announcement that any member of Hamas killed in so doing will not get the post-mortal respect that Osama bin Laden had in his burial at sea. No, I suggest that the Israelis announce asap that the body of every Hamas ‘martryr’ will be stuffed into a steel drum in a prayer/foetal position, and the remaining empty space filled with pig shit, thus rendering him totally ineligible for entry to Paradise. So he will miss out for the rest of Eternity on the company, conversation, and sexual favours of his allocation of 72 beautiful virgins. There followed by the whole stinking schemozzle being sealed, and then dumped unceremoniously but with much publicity into the deepest part of the ocean. (The necessasry pig shit could be sourced from some non-Jewish, non Islamic supplier nearby.)
Maybe that will give the Hamas militants cause to ponder their next move. Worth a try, surely.

Nor has Christian ‘turn the other cheek’ pacifism made much of a mark in the history books either: witness the religious wars arising out of the rise of Protestantism in Europe, and all since.
My father, who spent some time as a youth in West Virginia, US, told me that he had met with old Grandpa Hatfield, of the classic Hatfield-McCoy feud fame. That dispute ended by Dad’s account when the government decreed that nobody with the name of Hatfield was allowed on one of the two banks of a river dividing the two clans, and nobody with the name of McCoy was allowed on the other.

It fought against North Korea and China in the Korean War, which ended in a stalemate, but was soundly and deservedly thrashed in Vietnam (see Robert A McNamara, The Fog of War..

Omar, there is no need to create more ecological havoc in the ocean. Both pig shit and human bodies are bad for the system. The barrel also would create problems.
Wars devastate the ecological systems of any country involved in fighting (not so much the US, except when we have a home front, such as the Civil War). Let’s see if we can solve our problems as humans without making everything else suffer.

On the other hand, the Hamas militants are according to Wikipedia adherents of Sunni Islam. An estimate of the quantity of pig shit needed if say 44-gallon drums were used in the way I suggest could likely be provided by some Shia Muslim who was an established Islamic scholar with respected credentials; not just some Imam from some mosque or other.
The threat and uncertainties involved could well give the Hamas fanatics pause, and food for thought.
As for the pollution aspects: my proposed ingredients would be 100% organic and biodegradable; unlike most oceanic pollutants.
Beside all that the steel drum with totally organic ingredients inside right out of sight down deep in the ocean would imho create no problems. The steel in only a short time would be totally rusted away (unlike the Titanic and the organic matter (human remains and pig shit) would simply enter the oceanic carbon cycle. The political results and human lives saved (both Islamic and Jewish) would be potentially enormous.
The worst oceanic pollutants I believe are industrial products like CO2, the latter being a greenhouse gas raising the temperature of the oceans, and plastics (8 million tonnes per year go in, and can potentially hang around for centuries, breaking down physically into finer and finer particles, but never decaying.)
By then, Hamas could be right off the scene using my proposed method, saving countless lives in the process.
We are currently allowing around 8 million tonnes of plastic to get into our oceans every year? This plastic pollution is having a terrible impact on ocean wildlife, spreading through marine ecosystems, acting as a vector for pollutants and affecting our well-being, and potentially our health.
The Palestinians are being forced to pay for the crimes of the Nazis. In my opinion (admittedly with 20/20 hindsight) it would have been better justice to give the Jewish victims and refugees from Nazism the whole German state of Bavaria, where Nazism began, together with the remains of the ancient Jewish shrines in Jerusalem (Wailing Wall, Temple Mount, etc, etc.) jackhammered out of their present sites and transported across to Bavaria. BUT, by that time the Cold War was well underway, and the Western Powers wanted the Germans onside. So instead, the innocent Palestinians, whose territory lay smack-bang on the crossroads leading to Asia, Europe and Africa, had to pay the price instead.
This conflict is likely to last for about the next 1,000 years, as the English-Irish ongoing brawl (albeit in a quiet phase right now) has done.

I was extremely disturbed by Omar’s comments, which are both childish & stupid, and were they to be put into practice counter-productive in every way and increase the danger to Israel. He seems to be channeling Donald Trump on the myth that in the USA’s imperialistic take-over of the Philippines American soldiers smeared pig-fat on their bullets. I thought it probably better not to respond to his original comment and subsequent deflections, but came across the following in the New Statesman today (from an article by John Jenkins, the former British ambassador to Syria, Iraq, Libya and Saudi Arabia on the role of Qatar in this sorry mess) :
