Will’by’s hobby
More mystifying than ever. He must think he looks fabulous or he wouldn’t tweet it but…
Onlookers don’t think he looks fabulous, and wonder why he has a bikini strap growing out of his neck.
Remember, kids, this is a man age 57. What men age 57 do you know who tweet photos of themselves simpering in bathing suits?
All the rest of his time he spends bullying women on social media. Weird fella.
I have never loved the practice (which OB doesn’t do, but people like Lineham seem to enjoy a lot) of posting photos of trans people for the purpose of mocking their appearance. Yes, sometimes there’s a legitimate point (“this person wants to compete in sports with women”), but a lot of the time it’s just meanness that we would reject if directed at any other category of people.
But Willoughby really invites such scrutiny and criticism with all of the “look at me, I’m so HAWT, not like those ugly TERFS” posts.
That’s pretty much how I look at it. I try to avoid the mockery of appearance angle, but the self-obsession angle and the look at me angle are another matter.
And in fact Willoughby’s appearance in these selfies is not bad, which is presumably why he keeps posting them. He does create and share selfies that make him look mildly “cute” or “hot” but…it’s so weird that he does that.
Same with Mulvaney. He looks pretty but what the hell is his point?
Screechy@1, yes, I agree: he (“India”) makes appearance and mannerisms the entire basis of his claim to be a woman. As such, that opens those things up to critique–both for him, and for all the others like him who do the same.
Blanchard’s ‘autogynephile’ – lover of himself [imagined] as a woman – would more accurately be autogynerast: one who is erotically aroused by [imagining himself] as a woman. It’s an erotic relationship with the self. An audience of ogling admirers is part of the fantasy. The web is an excellent facilitator for that particular element: any number of invisible people *might* be reacting to a poster’s selfies in just the way he imagines. It’s all thoroughly narcissistic and as is well known, narcissists can be very thin-skinned, so that anything that challenges their fantasised self-image is experienced as an injury and frequently greeted with rage.
