This updated definition
Item 3 – Johns Hopkins has an LGBTQ Glossary.
Under “lesbian” we find
Lesbian [sexual orientation]: A non-man attracted to non-men. While past definitions refer to ‘lesbian’ as a woman who is emotionally, romantically, and/or sexually attracted to other women, this updated definition includes non-binary people who may also identify with the label.
So, we think to ourselves, they do the same with “gay man,” right?
Judge for yourself.
Gay Man: A man who is emotionally, romantically, sexually, affectionately, or relationally attracted to other men, or who identifies as a member of the gay community. At times, “gay” is used to refer to all people, regardless of gender, who have their primary sexual and or romantic attractions to people of the same gender. “Gay” is an adjective (not a noun) as in “He is a gay man.”
Chef’s kiss.
All these years we fought hard to be something other than “non-men”, and the damned progressives thrust us back into that position.
Try this word on for size: Woman. It fits so much better than “non-men”.
If non-binaries are neither men, women, non-men, or non-women, then why redefine anything? These sexless, genderless creatures can surely go on about their lives without being offended by sexed language.
Well, it isn’t Jane’s Hopkins, is it?
Despicable, says this gay man. Homophobic, misogynistic crankery.
Why the fuck are so many women enamored of this shit?
Mike B, throughout the feminist movement (and before), women have always collaborated in their own repression. Too many women accept the things that are labeled with the right labels — family or progressive or whatever they term themselves.
What’s galling is that they call themselves feminists.
Not only does the word “woman” have a fine, long history, it’s more economical too, as it uses two fewer key-strokes!
Yes, one wonders why these Divine Beings of Pure Spirit worry about the grubby details of the mundane language we mere mortals use to talk amongst ourselves about each other. Seems beneath them, really.
And that they claim to be better at feministing than actual feminists. I suppose that comes as no surprise seeing as they’re so keen on supporting men who claim to be better at womaning than actual women. The two kinda go together if you think about it.
I feel stuck. What woman on either side wants to listen to me mansplain about sex and gender?
So I just sit on the sidelines, fuming.
Ikn–
“Too many women accept the things that are labeled with the right labels.”
Yes. All-too-human inclination.
It’s the old trans cult credo — ‘thespians before lesbians.” We’ve heard it before.
“Back in my day, Not Men were Devo. You kids are confused.”
That IS insulting. The only acceptable apology is: “I’m sorry if you got offended. You see, I had no idea what I was fucking saying. Because I’m an idiot.”
Somehow they never walk it back though, usually they double down on their stupidness. Either that or delete it and pretend it never happened, which we all know doesn’t work. Maybe an E for Effort.
