They can be included, sure, but they shouldn’t be the focus, or be centered. But if they are trans, they will demand to be centered.
And I remember a column where PZ referred to “cis” privilege for women having cervical cancer! Right, it is “privilege” to be able to get a disease that can be fatal, because not everyone can get that disease. That was when I realized he had gone over the edge.
