A thing that calls itself a rape and sexual abuse counselling centre changes the subject to…pronouns. I guess rape and sexual abuse are so trivial that something more serious was needed?
“You cannot tell a person’s name or pronoun just by looking at them.” — Asking someone’s name is fine, but I can figure out what pronouns to use. Thanks anyway for the condescension.
“It’s not up to you to decide someone else’s identity.” — Maybe not, but it’s completely up to me how I identify people. It’s not up to you to tell me I must conform to your ideology. Go get bent.
“Ask co-workers, peers, and friends to point out when you’ve made a mistake.” Firstly, I won’t do your recruiting for you, and secondly, I don’t need to turn my friends and acquaintances into a pronoun police force. Eff off.
Maybe it’s time for someone to suggest that forcing a woman who is visiting a sexual abuse counseling center to call a man “she” is itself abuse, and sexual.
A) English already has neuter pronoun: it. The typical objection to using it is that it is dehumanizing. (Grammarian pun, btw.) But that’s incorrect. Rejection of sex is a rejection of one’s humanity and therefore is self-inflicted dehumanization.
B) ‘Tis quite a strange and ironic thing to see a rape and sexual abuse counseling center endorse the imposition of norms that obviously will lead to more rape and sexual abuse.
C) We can’t tell someone’s gender by looking, but can we by being raped? (Answer: no, you stupid transphobes.)

Who in the hell do these people think they are?
File this under Compelled Speech and its Enforcement. This isn’t education, it’s indoctrination.
