Isn’t it funny how sometimes you can’t make a coherent point without saying “women”? Of course, I would say the “pregnant people” is less than completely coherent, but they probably figure people understand what they mean. They remember the word “women” when there is no other way to word it?
Or…they could have called us uterus users, ovary owners, placenta possessors, bleeders, menstruators, or any other insulting term they can think of that reduces us to our biology in a major way. But then, they probably used women so they could include trans-women, who wouldn’t be included in any of those phrases.
