A legendary leader who uses the pronouns
Et tu The Globe?
That’s the spirit. Let’s turn all the famous women into men. Rosa Parks can be Roger Parks. Virginia Woolf can be Victor Woolf. Ruth Bader Ginsburg can be Ralph Bader Ginsburg. Rachel Maddow can be Robert Maddow. Give them all chest binders, call them all they them, erase women from everything. What’s not to love?
(it/that)
Clearly any woman doing such “masculine” things couldn’t be a real woman, right? She was in the wrong body! Because…she was gender non-conforming.
All the women we look to as bold, innovative role models? It just destroys my life to learn they were all really men…(it actually might if I believed it).
I don’t meet all, or even most, of the gender stereotypes. Does that mean I’m a man and didn’t know it? No. I am an otter…a FEMALE otter.
Remember this?
https://www.butterfliesandwheels.org/2021/super-yucky/
“Am I the only one who thinks its super yucky that people are making such a big deal out of Harris as vicepresident? It may not be intentional but the language being used is inherently transphobic and cisnormative. First of all our old Vice Presidents didnt live in an open minded time period so they never explicitly expressed how they identified. Since they are now dead and cant speak for themselves we have no way to knowing if they were all males. We only know that they were AMAB. There four it is not proven that Kamala Harris is the first “female” Vice President.. only that she is the first AFAB Vice President. But its 2021 now.. why are we still focusing on and celebrating somebodys genitals when scientists all over the world agree that what we are assigned at birth mean nothing?”
I know we’re supposed to suspend disbelief (we’re already accepting that Joan speaks English instead of French), but plopping they/them into her story is as jarringly anachronistic as having her use a cellphone.
Apparently she never denied she was a woman, and only dressed in men’s clothes because this is what was available to armored soldiers at the time. It could be argued that armor isn’t necessarily gendered at all. A historian’s article here >> https://www.medievalists.net/2021/03/joan-arc-feminine-masculine/ But of course the gender goblins will spin the story to suit their agenda.
This makes it sound essentially like all (or most) scientists agree with that. You could have scientists “all over the world”. It requires only one or two in each country, or in most of the countries, or maybe just in every large region, say in every hemisphere.
The other thing is scientists. What is meant by that? I know how I mean it, but a lot of people include a lot of things in there that have little or nothing to do with science. What fields are these scientist in? Do they know fuck all about sex or gender? Who are these scientists? What is their area of expertise? How has their agreement evolved?
In my own personal circle of scientists, I do not know a single one that would agree with that statement. Not the biologists, not the chemists, not the physicists, not any. Yes, I know I live in a conservative area, but a significant portion of my colleagues are liberal or progressive. Many of them would agree with these wokesters on most things…the need to defeat racism, the need to deal with global warming, etc. But they are not able to deny reality in order to make a handful of people comfortable within a delusion.
This is from memory, but at the time some matrons were asked to vouch for Joan being a woman. They examined her body and said yes she was.
Ahhhhh but did they check her for nonbinaryitude?
As Sojourner Truth said, “Ain’t I an AFAB?”
And can everybody please stop it with all this “Mulan” crap!? Mr. Hua (He/Him) wasn’t a woman who “pretended” to be a man to take her fathers place in battle. He was a man who simply took the opportunity to reveal his true gender identity.
And Éowyn went to battle despite her father’s wishes, and killed the Witch King of Angmar, who could not be killed by a man. She left no doubt of her womanhood.
Transing Joan: She, Joan. You, hack: excellent new piece by Victoria Smith (aka glosswitch).
