With words of advice
More absurd than ever.
He was “made aware of an incident on Sunday where officers visited an address to provide words of advice to a resident after they had published a video blog online which may have caused offence or distress.”
Where to begin. The officers didn’t “visit an address,” they went to Kellie-Jay Keen’s address to scold her. They didn’t go there “to provide words of advice,” they went there to accuse and scold her. They weren’t the ones who published the video, she was. What made them think her video “may have caused offence or distress?” More to the point, do the police go bang on men’s doors to give them “words of advice” about misogynist sexist threatening insulting venomous videos and tweets and blog posts? EVER??? Not that I’ve ever heard of. That kind of thing is just normal, but skepticism about men who say they are women merits a visit from the plods.
It’s ridiculous, and worse than ridiculous.

Which is what I have been saying all along. ‘Trans rights’ gives cover for men with their own agendas to invade hitherto females-only spaces (eg womens’ washrooms and public dunnies). Philip Wilkinson is clearly incompetent in any position in which he acts as a liaison between the police and the public. Maybe there is an MP who hasn’t drunk the kool-aid and can raise the matter in Parliament.
You know…over at another favorite blog we were debating a bit of political both siderism. One prolific poster argued the left was totalitarian and thus voting R could be justified. While sharing his serious disdain for much wokedom, I vigorously dismissed this argument. Stuff like this makes me wonder if I was indeed wrong. (The blog hostess, nan, mentioned your name, so I sent her a link to this)
A much to large portion of the left *is* totalitarian, this is true and they’d be very dangerous if they were in control of state legislatures. All that shit the MAGA cultists are doing to break democracy they’d do in a heartbeat.
But we live in a world where all their power is relegated to cultural institutions with a brittle grip on the things that matter. You can kill it with state power in the right place even if you can’t change people’s minds. The thing with the Godzilla threshold is you don’t summon Godzilla until things are so bad that he won’t make them worse. Joining the Lions Eating Entrails party to spite the Leopards Eating Faces party isn’t smart.
