Riot gear and a smoke grenade
I guess “white supremacist” is a kind of all-purpose political orientation that starts with hating everyone? A group of them were interrupted at a Pride parade in Idaho.
Police in the US state of Idaho have arrested 31 members of a white supremacist group and charged them with plotting to riot at a gay pride event.
Someone saw them piling into a truck with shields and masks, and called the cops.
The vehicle was soon stopped, and the men – members of the Patriot Front group – were arrested.
“They came to riot downtown,” Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White said.
He added that riot gear and a smoke grenade were found in the vehicle.
The lorry was stopped near where the North Idaho Pride Alliance was holding the Coeur d’Alene Pride in the Park event.
In case you’re wondering how Coeur d’Alene is pronounced, it’s disappointing. Coredalayn.
The arrested members of Patriot Front are from 11 different US states – and only one of them from Idaho, police said.
Crossing state lines to create a ruction. It’s sort of good in a way though – they could rustle up only one rioter in Idaho and had to go trawling around the rest of the country – and then all they ended up with is 31 wannabe rioters.
Going by the title alone, I was expecting a story about trans activists attacking a meeting or talk by women trying to protect their spaces and boundaries.
I think I understand that flag better now. That little white triangle is the supremacists chasing black and brown people through a gay rights parade, using trans as shields.
I wonder how Jason Stanley would square his characterization of feminists as fascists with the fash-adjacent, “pound-shop ninja” trans-activist bullies who were aggressively keeping women from accessing the Pankhurst statue in Manchester a few weeks ago? He wrote a book. He should be able to tell us: which group was which? I haven’t written a book on the subject, but I think I know who was giving off more than a whiff of the Blackshirt vibe. Were the feminist women hiding their faces, and refusing to answer questions? No. Were the feminists the ones dressed in paramiltary-wannabe black, occupying public space, and assaulting those trying to use that space for a peaceful gathering? No. If those women were supposed to be the “fascists”, they’ve really got to up their game.
Maybe [embattled minority group] gets a blank cheque to use whatever tactics it wants?
Asking for a friend.
Wait, riot gear means “stuff needed to start a riot” now? Whatever next, inflammable means flammable? What a country!
Papito:
I love it! Fits very well.
I hitherto suspected that the little white triangle was white male supremacists, dressing themselves up in the pædophilic ‘trans’ colours, using black and brown people as shields to remove rights firstly from LGB people and then everyone else.
I always thought that the Pride Flag is a rainbow to represent all humanity; to express the thought that LGB people are just as much a part of the rainbow of human experience as everyone else, and should have no reason to feel ashamed.
