The Gwent cops certainly seem terrified about these OffenSive posters.
“Safely” remove – because they’re radioactive, you see, and poisonous, and wired to explode, and laced with razor blades. Stay 500 feet back and summon the helicopters.
Well no wonder they’re mad at women. Male cops are standing up for themselves at last!
“relative” authority, by which the poor dear meant relevant. Social media is increasingly the domain of people that don’t Inglish so gud. And yes, the total radio silence as to why these posters are offensive is interesting in itself. Who complained? Men, demanding women stop pointing the finger? Or more likely, trans allies (rightly) seeing this as bolstering the position that we should have sex exclusive spaces.

It is perfectly safe to remove posters in England and Wales. If Gwent Police believe they are in the US and removal might be a violation of someone’s first amendment rights, then surely it would be safer to have a non-state actor do it: unless, of course, said actor were in a US university and subject to discipline under a local speech code sanctioned by the Federal Department of Education and upheld by the Supreme Court.
In her interview, Jenni Swayne said the police told her someone claimed she’d been putting ground glass under the stickers.
Obviously untrue, a ridiculous long-debunked trope and… ground glass?
1. That’s not going to hurt or damage anyone anyway, and
2. I’m not convinced a sticker would even stick if it’s back were covered in ground glass.
