Harsh
Evil mullah promises to continue to be evil.
The Taliban will resume executions and the amputation of hands for criminals they convict, in a return to their harsh version of Islamic justice.
Which tells you everything you need to know about their religion.
In an interview with Associated Press, Mullah Nooruddin Turabi – who was justice minister and head of the so-called ministry of propagation of virtue and prevention of vice during the Taliban’s previous rule – dismissed outrage over the Taliban’s executions in the past, and warned the world against interfering with Afghanistan’s new rulers.
…
“Everyone criticised us for the punishments in the stadium, but we have never said anything about their laws and their punishments,” Turabi said in Kabul. “No one will tell us what our laws should be. We will follow Islam and we will make our laws on the Qur’an.”
Yes we will, and he can’t stop us. Unless and until his loathsome religion takes over the world, we damn well will tell them and everyone that their laws are disgusting. Fuck the Qur’an.
Horrifying, of course. Yet is this new? Our leaders continue to literally kiss the a$$es of the Head Choppin’ House of Saud. The United States and our European Lap Dog sell them advanced weapons so the Saudis can rain death upon Yemen.
Sadly, we see another country fall under the darkness of fundamentalist Islam. But let’s not kid ourselves that this is the only one…or even the worse. Remember: Our “ally” Pakistan has nuclear weapons and sold the secrets to the North Koreans. And as bad as the Taliban are, they have never come THIS CLOSE to destroying the world. https://freethoughtblogs.com/stderr/2021/09/19/the-use-of-nuclear-weaponry-2/
Of course it’s not new. I didn’t say it was new.
I know….I know. It’s just that when we focus on the evils of the Taliban we forget the evils we promulgate in the name of our fundamentalist religion, Mammonism. As much as I dislike Islam, which religion has killed more people?
I am just being cranky and contrarian. Mea culpa.
Remittuntur tibi.
I’ll just add it’s not as if I’ve never said harsh things about Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, or Dublin and Rome.
Whether it’s the Taliban, the Saudi regime, or Pakistan, the problem is Islam. It’s not a matter of which regime is worse, it’s that they’re fundamentally the same. Whether any given one of those regimes is friendly with the US or not is a side issue of negligible importance. The beginning, middle, and end of the problem is Islam.
Maybe if Napoleon, Victoria, etc had bothered to do something other than *just* lining their pockets while building their empires we wouldn’t have this problem. Maybe incentivize disdain for religion like in their home countries.
But France couldn’t be bothered to end the Tuaregs slavery and it’s not like anyone else did better.
All Islam? Or just fundamentalist radical Islam? And if yes, then why not condemn pretty much anything starting with “fundamentalist radical” except, maybe “tolerance”?
