As a more explicit example, in 2018, we talked about a Facebook thread trolling the Bloodroot Vegetarian Restaurant. I never mentioned this detail here, but the Facebook thread has a comment I reported to Facebook,
Burn it down and kill the owners.
Facebook responded to me,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We looked over the comment, and though it doesn’t go against one of our specific Community Standards, you did the right thing by letting us know about it. We understand that it may still be offensive or distasteful to you, so we want to help you see less of things like it in the future.
From the list above, you can block Jordan Pierce directly, or you may be able to unfriend or unfollow them. We also recommend visiting the Help Center to learn more about how to control what you see in your News Feed. If you find that a person, group or Page consistently posts things you don’t want to see, you may want to limit how often you see their posts or remove them from your Facebook experience.
We know these options may not apply to every situation, so please let us know if you see something else you think we should take a look at.
I’m assuming everyone gets the reference, but just in case: it’s a homage to Woody Guthrie’s guitar, which bore the message “This machine kills fascists.” Which at least in Guthrie’s case was obviously metaphorical.
Remember, Guthrie wanted to sing Kumbaya with fascists from August 23rd, 1939, to June 22nd, 1941. I don’t know if he modified his guitar for the duration…
John @ 8 – Hitler-Stalin pact to Operation Barbarossa hey? If I ever knew that I’d forgotten it. I knew he was blacklisted of course but lots of people who weren’t Stalinists were blacklisted.
It always kind of reminds me of the trans delusion – or rather the latter always kind of reminds me of the former. The bullying and canceling and blacklisting were much the same.

I just checked, the comment is still there.
Appalling. I’m wondering how this manages to pass through.
And I’m also wondering … why a roller skate?

Sastra, I assume the roller skate is used because roller derby is cool and offers TIMs a chance to physically injure women.
Yeah, I wonder how many people seeing that add would think that model is a woman.
Maybe his derby name is “Beergoggle Disaster.”
Here is one of Australia’s trans women, discussing roller derby and how “science” proves he should play with and against women: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/02/how-i-fell-in-love-with-roller-derby

Dave @ 1 – daaaaaaaaaaamn.
I reported this one yesterday. No doubt they will say this too is okie dokie and I should just look away if I don’t like it.

Re: the threat, I find that fb is more responsive with multiple reports. Mods often have only seconds to make decisions, leading to errors.
