Embrace the pandemic like a man!
Bolsonaro to the people of Brazil: suck it up!
The Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, has triggered a wave of revulsion by telling citizens to stop “whining” about a coronavirus outbreak that has killed more than 260,000 people.
The far-right populist made the inflammatory declaration on Thursday, as Brazil’s already dire Covid situation deteriorated and its average daily death toll rose above that of the United States.
“Stop all this fussing and whining. How long are you going to keep on crying?” Bolsonaro asked supporters in the midwestern state of Goiás, where nearly 9,000 people have died.
What’s there to fuss and whine about after all? Hospitals overrun, nurses and doctors stretched beyond the limit, people suffering – who cares?
The composer Zeca Baleiro tweeted: “A president who says ‘stop whining and fussing’ at the most critical, painful and heart-rending moment the Brazilian people have faced since the start of the pandemic isn’t just a bungling politician, a bad man or a moron. He’s an incurable sociopath.”
There are people who compete with each other on Twitter to see who can say the most psychopathic things about the pandemic.
A disgusting excuse for a human being. Imagine all the effort that went into carrying him and giving birth to him. Just to have produced a useless degenerate babbling idiot.
On occasion, I find it useful to read the words of such leaders in the voice of Zapp Brannigan.

As much as I hate to sully Zapp Brannagan, I’m surprised I never noticed how much tRunp’s quotes resemble something ZB would say. I will now forever use that voice followed by a Kif sigh of exasperation. Thanks Arcadia!
OT, Does anyone else miss Futurama as much as I do?
Mike, I don’t see ZB and Trump as so very different: vain, full of themselves, comically ignorant, absurd egos, desperate for constant attention, completely prepared to cause chaos, mayhem and mass death and still think it makes them look good. I could go on.
I wasn’t trying to disagree about ZB, you’re quite right in the comparison. ZB just seems more human, even as a literal cartoon caricature. In case it wasn’t clear my thanks is genuine, I can replace T’s voice with ZB’s when reading all his quotes and perhaps keep my blood pressure…not as high.
I know what you mean about Zapp seeming more human. Maybe that’s because we cannot comprehend a human that’s done what Trump has, without any apparent remorse or regret? Even Zapp occasionally demonstrated regret.
Of course…the real problem in both Brazil and the U.S. is not just their Duci….its the electorate. One can almost…almost…sympathize with the Brazilian electorate. A political class whose leftist members were corrupt to the core, a rising crime rate. Of course, as with Trump voters, they choose a man who exemplifies the worst attributes of what they supposedly despise.
