Joe Biden has been sworn in as president, bringing an end to four years of Donald Trump’s leadership in Washington.
Biden was sworn in by supreme court chief justice John Roberts, and his wife, Dr Jill Biden, held the Bible as he took the oath.
It’s over it’s over it’s over it’s over.
Yay, a shiny new prez. 4 years of hell finally over. :D
Yessssssssssss!
My congratulations. Now there’ a huge amount of damage to be undone. It will take time.
Congratulations – to us all.
The challenges ahead are enormous.
We’ll worry about that tomorrow.
Today let’s celebrate :)
“Now, enraged and seeking revenge, Trump has raised the idea of starting a new political party in recent days, a senior adviser said.”

Hmmm.
If he does there will be two loony-rightwing parties and both will fail.
Oh, please let it be.
I think that’s probably what people like McConnell worried about, which is why they kissed Trump’s ass so much, hoping to keep those nutjobs in the party, along with all the nutjobs they like better.
I haven’t been able to find it online, so perhaps I’m misremembering or it’s apocryphal, but when the right-wing Reform Party of Canada emerged to split the right-of-center vote and cripple his Progressive Conservative Party in the 1990s, former cabinet minister John Crosbie was said to have remarked something like “they took all of our wingnuts and lunatics — and we want them back!”
おめでとうございます!(As we say in Japan.)
It is like a great load lifted off the world.
