Because he was wearing gloves
They’ve found the guy with the treason flag.
A man who carried the Confederate battle flag into the U.S. Capitol as part of an invasion by a mob of supporters of President Donald Trump surrendered with his son Thursday after arrest warrants were issued for their roles in the riot, the FBI said.
Kevin Seefried, who was carrying the flag that he later told authorities had been displayed outside his Delaware home, and his son Hunter Seefried are expected to be arraigned later Thursday in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.
They helped with the breaking and entering part.
The document also says that video footage on Twitter shows Hunter Seefried punching out glass in a window at the Capitol after it was smashed by others with a wooden two-by-four.
“Kevin Seefried confirmed to law enforcement agents that Hunter was asked by an individual unknown to the Seefrieds to assist with clearing the window because Hunter Seefried was wearing gloves,” the document said. “After Hunter Seefried complied, people from the crowd outside, to include the Seefrieds, were able to access the interior of the Capitol building.”
I wonder what they were thinking. That this was all just high spirits, and no one would punish them for it? That everybody was doing it, so everybody would be let off with a mild rebuke?
“Everybody” is likely to be let off with a mild rebuke. Consequences? What are those?
What they were thinking, and possibly not incorrectly(we won’t know for a while) that they would not suffer any consequences beyond possibly being inconvenienced which is all that’s happened to them so far as opposed to what should have happened which would have been a large number of shot up bodies in front of or on the steps and walls of the capitol. It remains to be seen what will happen to them and even if something does, it may not be for any more reason than that the people who might otherwise do nothing will avoid their own headaches by doing something to these people. there are any number of hands the buck can be passed to which will in the end to no consequences of any significance and none for those in positions of power. All of which should come as no surprise. as you posted, even Comey is suggesting that trump be pardoned, the implications of which are staggering.
Well, Mr President, sir, we have good news and bad news, sir. The good news, sir, is that Hunter has been arrested, sir. The bad news, sir? It’s not that Hunter, sir.
What they were probably thinking is that they were going to win. They were going to be the heros of their own “1776” moment. This was righteous violence. They were making history. They were going to have their way. Trump would have his second term.
And Trump would love them. Maybe even have them over for hamberders.
In the kitchen, with the staff, with ONE scoop of ice cream for dessert.
Trump definitely egged them on and put them up to it, while maintaining deniability – after a fashion.
Trouble is: ‘I was put up to it, Your Honour’ is about the weakest excuse in the book. As weak as ‘it was the whiskey talking, Sir.’
Then again, ‘the whiskey put me up to it Sir; Your Honour’ could be worth a try; particularly if in front of a red-nosed judge inclined to giving idiots the benefit of any doubt; and if by some stroke of chance such a judge is on the bench on the day when the case of the White House Hooligans comes up.
Ah yes, ‘honoring their Confederate Heritage’…in DELAWARE?
Omar, they might luck out if they get one of those judges used to giving white frat boys a slap on the wrist – if that – for rape. Don’t want to ruin their future over 15 minutes, they say. Well, why ruin the future of these fine white guys?
It wouldn’t surprise me at all. I wish it would.
