Nah they don’t
Oh really?
But what about all the abuse from trans activists and their “allies”?
The group of campaigners said that while they strongly opposed the Harry Potter author’s stance on trans rights, they stood in solidarity with her against the newspaper’s “abhorrent” approach to a domestic violence story.
“Misogyny is a pervasive force and one that treats survivors and victims of sexual and domestic violence as bylines to their abuser’s story,” the trans and non-binary activists said in the letter to the Sun’s editor, Victoria Newton.
But what about those activists n allies?
Needs a slap, slap that bitch, slap the shit out of jk rowling bitchass, I will slap the fuck out of you, I just want to bitchslap Jk Rowling, i stand with jk rowling so that i can slap her in the back of the head, I WOULD SLAP JK ROWLING IN THR FUCKING FACE IF I COULD, there has to be a line of people just desperate to slap jk rowling in the face
Any “trans and nonbinary activists” writing to anyone to protest that?
Nah. They agree with it. They incite it.
Abuse doesn’t count as abuse if it is against a sufficiently bad target. Worse, the level of abuse that is greenlit gradually increases, and the criteria for ‘sufficiently bad’ gradually broaden.
I agree the signers of the letter did nothing whatsoever to address the vitriol from their own side. I will say, though, that I can’t recall any sort of statement against misogyny from trans activists before, and all of the statements I have seen from those angry at JKR have ignored the abuse or, worse, said she was milking the abuse for sympathy. Plus, this was a letter in support of someone they and theirs are going out of their way to stomp into the ground. So, a step, a small step, not nearly far enough, but a step. It shouldn’t be so damn difficult for certain groups of people to condemn domestic violence, but it is.
True. I’m ambivalent. On the one hand a step is better than no step. On the other hand I hate giving them credit for one tiny step while all the rest of the bullying and “that bitch cunt hag”ing continues unrebuked.
For those who wonder why the cries of “fake news” have so much traction in the USA — this is why. People see the mainstream press going out of the way to present one side in the most positive light possible, maybe not exactly faking the news but certainly stage-managing the news to the benefit of their side. Once people get deep enough into an issue (like radfems are with the trans cult antics), the bias and manipulation of information done by the media becomes very clear. Most people do not see this until it happens around an issue they have some deeper experience/knowledge with.
Um…was this the US? I think this happened in the UK?
I should have been clearer —- it does not have to be a story or issue strictly relegated to the USA that makes people see “fake news” or stage-managed news happening so they start doubting all mainstream media. It can be about stuff that happens anywhere that is covered in such a way that it is clear the media is pushing and controlling the narrative so their side looks better.
Okay, that makes sense. Although most Trump supporters don’t pay any attention to news from “Old Europe”. They’re just coastal elites out there. They’re all French, didn’t you know?
I know why I am disturbed by their very selective condemnation; it sounds like abusive parents everywhere. “Don’t you hit my kid! WE’RE the only ones allowed to hit her!”
Presumably a greater number of people are reached in some way by the papers than by TRAs on Twitter. To those people, it could look like JKR said something bad about trans people, the Sun decided this was the time to give her (and abuse victims everywhere) a kicking, and trans people magnanimously stepped in to condemn the Sun when they could have just sat back and watched JKR be punished. But no! They’re all about fairness. Meanwhile, in the hellhole that is Twitter, hideous abuse continues to be hurled at her, but most people are unaware of it.
