It was misinterpretation m’lud
Aw, poor DOCTOR Adrian Harrop has had to apologize to JK Rowling.
Rowling raises an eyebrow.
He’s not a bully, he’s not he’s not he’s NOT. He’s just inthenthitive.
What did he say?

Jimmy Saville was the UK’s most popular children’s entertainer at the height of his career, & one of the most famous men in the country. working with how you’re framing JKR, I suppose you’d have gladly given him unsupervised contact with your kids – or have I misunderstood you?
Sure, just insensitive, not libelous at all.
The hyperbole is interesting. Doesn’t agree that children should be given puberty blockers just because they say “I’m not a boy, I’m a girl!” equates to being unsafe to be around children. Doesn’t agree that girls should be encouraged to bind their breasts so they can look like boys equates to being unsafe to be around children.
People who give drugs with unknown side effects (but often infertility) to children to allow them to feel more like their pretend world is real are the ones who are not safe to be around children. People who talk children into believing they are something else because they don’t fit the “little girls vs little boys” mode for their sex, and who advocate intrusive treatments are the ones who are not safe to be around children.
People who write stories for children? Must agree with every word of trans ideology, or we must keep them…and their stories…away from children.
The world is upside down. And pear-shaped.
Yes, there is clearly something wrong about people who insist on giving their title as ‘Doctor’, and there’s clearly something very wrong with Dr. Adrian Harrop. His tweets and his own person are wholly contemptible, and, to use a word I am generally very careful about using, actively evil. ‘What about free speech?’ asks Stephanie Hayden, whose address is ‘flyinglawyer73’, adding ‘remember it’s only hurtfeelz on the interwebs.’ She appears to be as good a lawyer as he is a doctor, and wholly imperceptive and ignorant to boot. Defamation, slander, calumny, libel, cyber bullying (a Japanese woman wrestler has just killed herself at the age of 22 because of that, as have at least two Korean pop stars)? No, it’s all a cheery game on the ‘inter webs’. i wouldn’t trust either of these people with anyone, let alone children.
An apology for being ‘misinterpreted’ is not an apology for his own actions. Classic nopology – “I’m sorry you’re an idiot!”
“Misinterpreted”? He says it right out, JKR is equivalent to child molester Savile … with “or have I misunderstood you” snark added for emphasis, to belabor the point.
He was not “insensitive.” He did not “poorly word” his actual point. Nobody “misinterpreted” what he actually did say.
What a liar (as well as a defamer).
