Sign says “I need a haircut.” Ready to pay for it with your life? Ready to make other people pay for it withtheir lives? If these pro-business conservative types are so against the people they see as “takers,” how do they not see that they risk having their own lives taken by easing restrictions too soon? There’s no paycheck if you’re not around to collect it.
not Bruce, these are people used to having their convenience at the expense of other people’s lives. Not just their Second Amendment fundamentalism, but many things. They want more nuclear power plants, not in itself necessarily bad, but they want to lift all safety regulation so it will be cheap and plants are built faster. They want more coal mining, which kills thousands of miners (if you just count the mining accidents and ignore the black lung and cancer deaths), and will increase global warming, leading to many deaths. They want for-profit health care, which leads to deaths of poor people. They want cheap goods at WalMart, which leads to deaths in sweatshops around the world.
And they also agitate, very loudly, for women to be forced to carry a fetus to term, even at the cost of her life. They want birth control to be available only to those who can pay for the increasing expensive treatments, and some of them don’t want it available at all.
The GOP is not pro-life; they are pro-death. As long as it’s the “wrong” people that are dying. What happens when Red State America becomes the hot zone? (We already are in some places, but for some reason, even the locals can’t seem to see that. Maybe it’s because the local paper has been ignoring it, printing essentially nothing about COVID-19 until yesterday, and what little it did print was way back in the frozen wastelands of the paper).
