Ah yes, a remarkable achievement.
Laurel Hubbard kept alive her hopes of competing at Tokyo 2020 when she won the women’s super-heavyweight contest at the Roma World Cup, the first Olympic qualifying event of the year.
It would be a remarkable achievement should she make it because Hubbard, who will be 42 on February 9, ruptured ligaments in her left elbow at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast and thought her career was over.
But not all that remarkable given the fact that Hubbard is a man and he’s competing against women.
Hubbard, who competed at national level as Gavin Hubbard before transitioning in her thirties, may find that her fate is not entirely in her own hands.
The woman who took the Commonwealth Games and Arafura Games titles, 19-year-old Feagaiga Stowers of Samoa, needs to be in the top eight of the final rankings to take an automatic qualification place for Hubbard to have a realistic chance.
Should Stowers make it, Hubbard would battle it out with Charisma Amoe-Tarrant, formerly of Nauru and now competing for Australia, for the Oceania slot.
In other words Hubbard hopes to take a slot away from a woman.
I wonder why the people who run these events, the sponsors, and the supporters even allow this sort of thing. They are delegitimizing women’s athletics in all fields and making a mockery of it. I’m not a fan of athletic sports anymore, but even less so if it’s going to degenerate into this. What a joke.
Why not create a coed division, and let them compete regardless of sex, is that too simple?
Ah because if it were a mixed sex division then “Laurel” wouldn’t win. “Laurel” can’t win unless he competes against women.
So we may be well on our way to that thing Rachel/Veronica McKinnon/Ivy claims hasn’t happened – a win in a major competition.
It makes sense. After all, to get to those competitions, you have to win or place in a number of smaller ones first, so no, you wouldn’t see a transwoman waltzing onto the scene and taking Olympic gold immediately. All these smaller competitions serve a purpose: getting the women to the point where they can qualify for the major ones. And the women are being shoved aside by men with pink hair.
I feel sorry for the women athletes who have to put up with this garbage, they work extremely hard to get to the top levels in their sports, only to get run over by men in lipstick. It’s gross.

I was browsing through some sports records over the weekend and kept coming across the name Bruce Jenner. Two thoughts arose:
Why hasn’t Caitlyn Jenner had these records expunged as they are “deadnaming” her?
Why hasn’t the International Olympic Committee rescinded the Gold as Jenner was obviously competing under false credentials as a man. As we all know, a man is a woman from birth, he just doesn’t know it yet, but as soon as he sees a doll, she knows she is no longer a man.
Don’t forget the Genderbread Person! Or is that restricted to medical professionals only?
