Idiocy aside, their behaviour is reprehensible, unethical and just plain fucking stupid. they are also very clearly lying with the whole, my phone is outside in the hands of a staffer bullshit. they’re being widely mocked for that and pilloried by former staffers at SCIF’s.
#1 But… their explanation, which they appear to believe is exculpatory, explicitly states that they are transmitting via mobile phone from within the secure zone. Meaning they’re still in the same legal trouble as before. Do they really think that it is only a breach of security if they tweet from within a secure area? Why would tweeting be barred but not any other mobile phone transmission??
