A deep irony
Of course she did.
If we are now equating possession of natal vagina to being lesbian then there's a deep irony there.

What does that even mean? Everyone with a vagina is a lesbian?
I’m missing something, aren’t I? If I go the the miscellany room, is that a good place to discuss the background of this?
Not a single person is equating having a vagina to being a lesbian. However, all lesbians have vaginas.

I think she is trying to argue that lesbians’ insistence on having a partner with a vagina is equivalent to insisting that all vagina-havers are lesbians. A conclusion that is not only non-evident, but completely bereft of all logic.
My take is that it’s a clumsy way of criticizing lesbians for insisting that only those with natal vaginas can be lesbians, others need not apply, but I’m not really sure. Whichever way I look at it, I see no obvious pathway to irony.
If you have to have been born with a vagina in order to be a “ lesbian,” then that’s like rain on your wedding day.
Surely if a “trans woman” is a lesbian she is really just a bloke who likes to have sex with women.
If a “trans woman” is not attracted to men then she is probably a straight male. If she is attracted to men, then surely she is homosexual.
Or did I get something wrong?
Okay. I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought the statement made no sense at all. On the other hand, I supposed it makes as much sense as ‘female penis’ (apologies to all the female spotted hyenas reading this).

God, I’ve missed you, Sastra. So glad you’ve come to the dark side. Does PZ know?
Its making no sense is one reason I posted it. Gopal is a particularly unpleasant wokester, and I’ve posted about her activities in that line a few times. Last time she was bullying Mary Beard.
(I think Sastra left PZ behind a long time ago, longer than I did.)
So we’re going with shallow irony then? One that only shows itself briefly after a rain shawer until the sun dries it out? Or maybe a deep non-irony?
