But benefiting from systemic racism is not the same thing as voting for Trump. Yes of course I benefit from systemic racism, but I don’t benefit from systemic sexism. Why is Munroe Bergdorf yelling at white women instead of white men? I can’t help thinking it’s for the reason above: Munroe Bergdorf hates women and likes to seize chances to yell at us.
I am getting so tired of the “you voted for Trump” trope. I did not vote for Trump. I would not vote for Trump. In fact, only slightly over half of white women voted for Trump, and that was just of the women that voted, so if you meet a white woman, it is probably at least as safe to assume that she did not vote for Trump as that she did (unless maybe she’s wearing a MAGA hat or an “I Love Trump” t-shirt or something). This is not the case for white men, who voted in overwhelming numbers for Trump.
I have been told repeatedly that I am responsible for Trump. I worked against him. I donated against him. I tried to educate voters about him. I am not responsible for Trump. Just because I benefit from racism does not mean I want it to continue…

I wonder if Monroe has been told off for being bossy and shrill?
I’m thinking that the women who vote for Trump aren’t following Monroe. So, that message is meant to make the young women who do feel guilty. I wonder what that’s meant to achieve?
I blame everything on men. It’s easier and it’s true. If any women ever voted for Trump, it’s a man’s fault. The reason is simple: men made religion and the only justification I’ve ever heard women support for voting for Trump is that he promised(s) to keep justices who will support pro-life. As far as I can tell women Trump supporters are 100% correlated to religious ideologies reinforcing patriarchal control over women.
That ANY women voted for Trump is shocking. That white women did in such numbers is an indicator that misogyny is socially, politically, and personally acceptable in the U.S. in a way that racism isn’t. Or at least wasn’t before 2016.
