Childe Pinhead has been making yet more threats at North Korea. It’s worked beautifully so far, so why would he stop?
President Trump made fresh threats of force Friday against North Korea, writing on Twitter that the U.S. military is “locked and loaded” and later telling reporters that the isolated country would “truly regret it” if it attacks Guam or any other U.S. territory.
“This man will not get away with what he’s doing, believe me,” Trump said of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, whose nation, in open defiance of the United Nations, has been developing nuclear weapons capable of reaching the United States. “I hope that they are going to fully understand the gravity of what I said, and what I said is what I mean.”
Because he’s tough. He’s a manly man. He’s tough and strong and macho. Obama was weak and he is TOUGH.
He’s not without optimism though.
“Hopefully it will all work out,” he said. “Nobody loves a peaceful solution more than President Trump. … We will see what happens.”
Childe Pinhead is the best at everything. He’s the best at being TOUGH and he’s the best at loving a peaceful solution.
Asked to respond earlier Friday to those who say his threats could backfire, Trump told reporters, “My critics are only saying that because it’s me.”
“If somebody else uttered the exact same words that I uttered, they’d say: ‘What a great statement, what a wonderful statement,’ ” Trump said. “I will tell you, we have tens of millions of people in this country that are so happy with what I’m saying, because they’re saying, ‘Finally, we have a president that’s sticking up for our nation and, frankly, sticking up for our friends and our allies.’ ”
Oh christ. I can’t stand it.
And we have hundreds of millions who are not. Who are, in fact, realizing that perhaps they should be getting ready to duck and cover.
Please, somebody sell him a hotel in Seoul so maybe he’ll give a shit.
I couldn’t stand it any more so I ended the post. There’s more.
JESUS FUCK!
When is somebody going to Article 25 this idiot!
“…very successful in a different way quickly.”
I hadn’t seen this bit before I posted.
I repeat:
JESUS FUCK!!
So for this asshole nuclear war will represent “success”.
The dictatorship of the Hermit Kingdom, and the Kim family, having provided it with no less than three succeeding ‘dear Leaders’ is a case study for those interested in human divinity.
In my view, the only way it can work in N Korea is through convincing the whole population that they are all part of the same family.
The whole nation is one big family. That is the North Korean religion, and it is instilled into them all from birth. Thus I cannot recall seeing any photo of any member of the Kim Dynasty wearing anything more elaborate than ordinary street clothes, albeit very well tailored. This is appropriate for someone who claims as the source of his Authority the ecstatic love of the entire national population; barring of course those in jail awaiting execution.
But it was not always thus.
From ancient times to the present, those kings, emperors etc claiming divine status have adorned themselves with very elaborate clothing. The Pope as inheritor of the mantle of St Peter, who was awarded it by none less than Jesus Christ himself, wears a triple crown shaped like an arrow head pointing in the direction of Heaven; which is from whence he allegedly gets, well OK claims, his authority.
Bishops being inducted to the rank of cardinal have to lie face down on a polished cathedral floor, prostrating themselves before Almighty God. But not as I recall, a pope in process of installation. One reason possibly is that the papal crown can never point horizontally. Well, not in public anyway. But no doubt many a pope from the Borgias on though it a neat trick to have it off with his favourite mistress while dressed in full regalia: well, possibly only until things got climactic.
Speaking of passion, Trump’s on the other hand is gold. Gold tower in NYC, with gold plated elevators…. He would dress up bigly, I guess like Elvis Presley, in gold suits if he thought he could get away with it. He will possibly give the White House a gold makeover before he leaves office. Sooner or later. Bigly or not so bigly; Nixonly; impeachingly, perhaps.
Love the irony in using that Heavy picture considering how often Heavy refers to weak, babymen… and who do we have as president? The weakest of all possible babymen…
If he’s successful one of those ways it will actually be because of the hard work of many other people, not all of them American. If he’s successful in the other way, it’s a bit of a twisted description given the death toll, destruction and decades of birth defects and trauma that will be inflicted. He’s not just shallow and ignorant, he’s actually a dangerous sociopath/psychopath who shouldn’t be in charge.
The only world leaders of my lifetime who I can recall speaking so casually about nuclear war have all been North Korean. When did the USA sink to that level?

Making threats that you fail to follow up on doesn’t project strength.
Trump says: If you threaten us, we’ll drop nukes on you. (Stupid, horrible thing to say.)
Kim immediately threatens to firebomb Guam.
Trump says, “Oh, you guys are really gonna get it now” and reveals himself to be making empty threats. In which case, why bother?
To be clear, I’m not unhappy we’re not nuking North Korea.
But this is like threatening your small child: I’m fed up and it’s way past your bedtime, so if you make one more sound, I’ll put Rover up for adoption. Then the kid makes a sound. You don’t follow through, because that would be nuts. So you show yourself to be untrustworthy, and you erode your authority.
Solution: Don’t say that stupid thing you already said. Oops. Too late.
I suspect Trump will be very happy and feel perfectly justified if this situation escalates to the actual use of nukes. He’s never quite understood the downside about a nuclear exchange – I think he believes that the US could bomb another country so overwhelmingly that there could be no “exchange”. It’s not surprising – Trump very clearly does not live in the same world as the rest of us, and evidently is very bad at recognising the consequences of his actions.
Then there’s the facts that a) war leadership is somehow seen as the ultimate test, and b) that it is very common for a leader whose popularity is waning to see military action as something that will rally the country behind them.
So, yeah, this is is a horrible situation. The only light I can see is that Kim Jong Un does know that the US could wipe out his entire country (and, most importantly him) without blinking. He can threaten Guam, Alaska and maybe a couple of coastal areas… I’m not trying to minimise how appalling that would be, but it really isn’t a credible as a first strike threat. To make a nuclear preemptive strike, you have to know that a) you can take out the other country’s nuclear capability with your first wave of missiles, and b) that the chances of a reponse reaching your territory is very, very low. The US could probably manage that (though taking out a country’s entire arsenal is a very chancy business, depending on unrealistically perfect intel), certainly close enough that Trump might risk it. North Korea does not. If NK fires a nuke at the US – or even their entire arsenal – then that is the end of North Korea. Whatever his rhetoric, Kim Jong Un does not appear to be that stupid… Many commentators suggest that the threats and the missile programme have the intention of making the US take them seriously enough to sign a formal peace treaty.
North Korea is the frightened socially inept kid in the playground who blusters and threatens because they don’t know any other way to stay safe. Sadly, the US, at the moment, is the star jock with prestige and power who doesn’t need to pay attention, but is still doing so. Best case scenario: the jock’s hangers on manage to lead him away, and convince him the little turd isn’t worth it. Worst case: the jock creams the kid… and that’s where the analogy breaks down, of course. The repercussions would be world changing.
Let’s hope the jock’s hangers on have got hold of his arms. Maybe they can offer him a couple of scoops of icecream to distract him.
It’s interesting how often Trump says “believe me”.
@ latsot
I’ve repeatedly seen that particular verbal tick described as a red flag indicating a liar, or a potentially dangerous person. As in unsolicited promises along the lines of “it’s okay, you can let me in, I’ll leave right away, I promise”.
It is a tic that liars and narcissists have, “believe me” and “trust me” over and over again. Good catch, both of you.
