Kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss
Now people are laughing at Trump for holding a Kiss the Ring or Perhaps the Ass ceremony at his first “Cabinet Meeting” today.
Donald Trump opened a cabinet meeting Monday by bragging about the “record-setting pace” of his legislation, which is his fantasy as opposed to fact. Then things got weird, as Trump invited members to introduce themselves. They knew what to do.
Tell him he’s awesome. Did I guess right?
The cabinet responded with appalling enthusiasm, viz: “we thank you for the opportunity and the blessing that you’ve given us to serve your agenda”; “great honor to serve you”; “my hat’s off to you”; “privilege of my life”; “thank you, great honor”.
Oh god oh god oh god it’s so embarrassing.

That Cabinet meeting is just puke inducing. How can any self respecting person do that to themselves?
On the other hand. Nice one Smirnoff.
I’m a bit torn, since I could see myself giving similar (though probably less effusive) praise to someone I respected and admired, whose goals I shared, and for whom I’d been given the opportunity to help advance those goals…but only either at the very beginning or the very end of my tenure as an aide, and with the expectation that such praise would at least be partly rebuffed out of humility (even if that humility was itself a show).
But Trump can’t even pretend to be humble; he can’t even pretend not to relish the attention. And the goals and aspirations of his team of sycophants and granfalloons are repugnant, so fuck them, and fuck him..
That was the foulest thing I’ve ever seen in modern television.
No mention from anyone about serving the people?
Of course they’re all grateful, they’re fully aware that they wouldn’t get within sniffing distance of a cabinet post under a genuine president.
Dictionaries rejoice! Save space simply by using these videos in place of a definition for the word ‘obsequious.’
Waiting for the first leak about how Trump or an underling (maybe one whose name rhymes with ‘Bushner’) made it very clear what they was expected of them in that meeting, closely followed by Trump tweeting a denial. Followed by Trump firing those whose praise was deemed not fulsome enough.
‘…..what they was….’? FFS, even commenting about him makes me stupid!
Seth, I could see myself doing that for an appropriate person, spontaneously and probably privately. Maybe publicly at the end of my formal association with them. But in an organised and contrived way like that, designed solely to shore up their ego and public perception. No.
