Where’s your theory of mind, Eelz?
Musk expects everyone to sympathize with him because Tim Walz was not sad that Tesla’s stock fell.
Tesla’s stock price had fallen by half and “he was overjoyed.” Pause. “What an evil thing to do.”
Ah yes – evil. Evil is not Musk abruptly shutting down USAID with the result that thousands of people in poor countries were plunged into illness and misery, no no no, that’s not evil at all, what’s evil is to be pleased that the man who shut down USAID lost some of his billions.
His whine continues. “What a creep. What a jerk.”
Seriously, this shit is mind-boggling. He’s thrown thousands of civil servants out of useful jobs and here he is whining because an actual human being expresses dislike for him. Walz is the creep and jerk in this scenario??
Mind entirely boggled.
What happens when the two God-Emperors get into an argument about which of them has been most grievously slighted by his critics? The bar is set pretty high, as Trump has already declared on a number of occasions that he’s been treated worse than any other president ever (including Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, and Kennedy who were all assassinated). Musk is going to have to whine even harder about much less, if he hopes to have a chance of coming from behind to take the Gold in the 2025 Oppression Olympics, Asshole Billionare Edition.
Well also Trump actually was an assassination target, unlike Musk. Still, this stuff is ridiculous “How dare people hate me after I do a bunch of shit that alienates by commercial target demographics? I bought Twitter so I didn’t have to deal with that.”

I suspect a better question is does he really believe that there’s a constituency that this will play to? Trump has one, but Trump is Trump. I’m doubtful that it’s any way transferable. Trump has convinced many of America’s losers that he’s one of them because in a perverse way he is. He’s a hopeless shmuck who just happens to be very wealthy. They coulda been there. But Musk sees himself as a winner and he’s a foreigner to boot. To the MAGA crowd his whining is going to seem like rank ingratitude. “These foreigners coming over here and stealing our success stories”. I’ve predicted a bust-up before. The only difference is that, now, I’m convinced it will be nastier than I could have imagined.
