Something wicked this way comes
The United States voted with Russia, North Korea, Belarus and 14 other Moscow-friendly countries Monday on a resolution condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine and calling for its occupied territory to be returned that passed overwhelmingly in the U.N. General Assembly.
The stench will never go away.
The U.S. delegation also abstained on its own separate resolution that called simply for a negotiated end to the war after European-sponsored amendments inserting new anti-Russian language also passed the 193-member body by a wide margin.
No anti-Russian language for us, no sirree. We love our Vlad.
This article has a list of how countries voted. I said in the Miscellany Room that China had abstained, but apparently they voted against the resolution. Also Cuba, Iran, Nicaragua, Sudan, and Syria, among others.
Such is the company we keep.
Whether or not Putin has anything on him, I would now say that Trump is a Russian agent. I now wonder if Putin had any influence on the decision to purge the upper ranks of the US military. It’s certainly going to serve his interests to have America’s military weakened, demoralized, and in disarray. Any possible “Sir” stories notwithstanding, I can’t imagine the removal of so many top officers as anything but damaging.
Isn’t there a word for working on behalf of a hostile, foreign power? And another for a person who engages in that same activity?
