Nothing matters to him except his ego. Trump, the King of his own private Hell, inflicts it on the rest of us. I don’t think there’s enough ibuprofen for me to begin to understand this chaos. It must take a special kind of “genius.” All it does for me is give me a headache. I’m trying to keep the brain melt at a minimum, Harald. :(
Think of it, a multiply bankrupt, sleazy, ignorant, twice-impeached “President,” and tawdry real estate huckster managed to talk the American electorate into voting him into office again, started to subvert and dismantle the very Constitution he swore to protect by handing power to an unelected, unaccountable battery salesman with no public service or government experience, in order to recklessly dismantle public services without even examining their purpose or function. The United States will allegedly save trillions of dollars, though taxpayers will get nothing back. These services are far more important to the Citizens of the United States than they are to the ruthless megalomaniacs who are shutting them down, who have big, beautiful Bank Accounts to protect them from the disaster they are unleashing. On top of this “TRUMP” seems to think that his word is law, and that his power allows him to fire whomever he wants to, shut down offices and programs established by Congress, and randomly rename geographical features to suit his jingoistic, xenophobic whims. He can be played by others “like a fiddle,” particularly by the dictators whose ranks he is so eager to join. A would-be dictator whose 1.5% margin of victory in the popular vote, and win in the Electoral College are spun by him and his supporters as a decisive mandate, he is moving fast to ensure that there is little of the United States left. In the meantime, he threatens and bullies neighbours and allies, and disrupts critical foreign aid and health agencies, among other things. And yes, all agree that only “TRUMP,” and the Trump Administration, could have done this. Biden never tried, but “TRUMP” is successfully siding with Russia to dismember Ukraine, destroying NATO, and abandoning Europe to do whatever the hell it wants. “TRUMP” probably wants to keep the “gravy train” going, and it doesn’t look like anyone is going to stop him. I used to have a generally favourable opinion of America, but “TRUMP” has done a terrible job, his country is lethally divided, and MILLIONS will needlessly suffer. And so it continues…
YNnB, I think you meant morally bankrupt? Yes, I think we used to be a nation with laws *and* morals, but all I see now is the disease spreading, and not the kind of corruption the current “administration” talks about. All this budget cutting will be directed somewhere else, to fund DOGE, or colonize Mars, or some other silly ripoff.
How many people will be put out of work? How will it affect unemployment? How many government systems will be broken and taken over by lickspittle opportunists?
It’s not a set phrase (which morally bankrupt probably is), but I think the meaning is clear enough – bankrupt many times over. Just a creative way of saying it.
Well I would say morally and intellectually, so yeah, that makes sense. It didn’t occur to me because if politically or financially, he’s got more than enough, which are more common combinations (bankruptcy originally referring to money). He’s definitely multiply lacking in more than a couple areas.
twiliter, the bankruptcies gave him some breaks on his taxes (which I don’t understand; I was bankrupt once, and had no breaks on my taxes. In fact, I was paying a lot of money for someone who netted $5000 a year).
Whether he was REALLY bankrupt or not is anyone’s guess. There are a lot of ways to manipulate the system to go bankrupt when you have money, but he also was having a lot of failures at the time, because he really isn’t a very good businessman in spite of what he thinks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky needs to return to the negotiating table and strike a deal on US access to Ukraine’s critical minerals, White House national security adviser Mike Waltz has said.
Zelensky rejected the US demand for a share of Ukraine’s rare earth minerals on Wednesday, after Trump said he wanted a “deal” that would reflect the amount of aid provided to Ukraine from the US.
Sounds very much like “Yeah, we’re abandoning you to Russia but we still want our cut.”
And a classic case of don’t give it if you can’t take it. <
Waltz said the White House was “very frustrated” with Zelensky after he levelled “unacceptable” insults at US President Donald Trump earlier this week.
Something that all admit only “TRUMP” can do? I don’t admit it; what am I, chopped liver?
(I think it’s funny when he uses sneer quotes on his own name.)
Right? What DOES he think he’s saying?
I think he’s trying to melt our brains. And, by gosh, he is succeeding!
That’s parody, surely?

He meant multiply.
He is both multiply bankrupt AND morally bankrupt.
As you say. I’m not familiar with that phrase.

Bankrupt in every possible way.

Turns out he’s true calling was entertainment/politics… What would’ve happened if he’d tried it in the ’90s?
How about this for outstanding nerve?

A classic case of “I get to abuse everyone at will but no one ever gets to abuse me.” Worst human on the planet.
Here’s an idea: give them military kit in *exchange* for these minerals… You’re not getting anything when the NeoSovs take over.
