Hell, the statement, “around 1 in 100 people experience menopause before age 40” is clearly incorrect (not just insulting and erasing, which is where the cut-and-paste approach to ‘inclusive’ language usually leads). Since the last time I checked, men do actually count as ‘people’, if 1 in 100 women experience early menopause, then 1 in 200 people should experience it. This is nothing less than journalistic malpractice. If the language was the choice of the author, then they should be reamed out by an editor; if it was the decision of an editor, then they should be demoted or ousted.

I was just about to call my GP and ask why I hadn’t gone through menopause until I saw the third tweet.
