Well, I’m delighted for you! In an ideal world, work should never get in the way of living life to the fullest possible extent.
When it comes down to it, the happiest posts you make are about your jaunts. I love reading about places I shall never see, from the point of view of someone I greatly admire. Keep on escaping!
It’s true – the jaunts are a kind of Wordsworthian bliss thing, quite different from trying to chip away at an absurd new dogma. I’m really glad you love reading about them – I want to share the adventure bug.
This one wasn’t at that level, but that’s ok, you have to try in order to find out, and now I know. It was to a park at the very south end of Lake Washington, 12+ miles from here, and the park is too municipal and commercial for my taste. I wanted to see what’s down there though and now I have, so that’s satisfying. The park goes on for a long way up the east side of the lake, so maybe some day I’ll explore that, but for now I found out what I wanted to find out.
The jaunts are lovely, I’m about to go for a brief one now. Still, there was a moment today I was staring at the screen where your latest post should have been tapping my watch. I’ll get over myself.

I love hearing about the jaunts also — I’ve spent a little time in Seattle and loved it there so it’s nice to hear about it from time to time.
Definitely from time to time. I blab about it a lot more on Facebook but here I use some discipline.
