This level of protection
Not only does Steve Scott at ITV News write a fawning piece about “Emily” Bridges and his tragic failure to continue cheating women in cycling races, but also ITV News turns off comments on the Twitter link to said piece.
ITV News doesn’t turn off comments lightly…in fact it apparently never does except when the subject is an entitled man trying to cheat women in sports.
Yes why is that? Why is that??
Many media outlets have gone all-in with genderideology, using “preferred” (but inaccurate) pronouns, reporting stories from a pro-trans, anti-feminist position, etc. Blocking comments and stifling criticism might be their way of protecting their investment and commitment. It does seem to be some kind of deal. Transactivists get a powerful, influential ally that will hide the truth and report stories in the way they prefer, which will help shape and steer the public perception of trans “issues,” and help to control whatever degree of “debate” that transactivists are unable to avoid. But what the collaborationist media get out of it (apart from some sense of smug righteousness) is beyond me. Media companies are businesses; they can’t be doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. But what can be worth the massive reputational damage that toeing the trans line inevitably results in?
