They are concerned for her
Wouldn’t you think if you’re the police looking for a missing person you’d want to put out the most accurate information possible in order to…you know…find the missing person?
Bromley Metropolitan Police Service thinks not.
People mocked, and also pointed out that searching for a missing person does depend on accurate description. Bromley Police got in a huff. No progress in finding missing person was recorded.
This is where being able to discuss factual matters in a straightforward way would be really helpful: “We are looking for this person [photo] who prefers to present as a trans women and answers to the name Sarah…” Instead we get this shit. I hope they find ‘Sarah’ safe and well.
Also, my experience of police, especially when trying to be VERY OFFICIAL, is that they frequently misuse words. Probably because your average cop isn’t highly educated and trained in language use. They kind of know the word they want, but often just use a similar sounding word or a word that sort of has the right meaning, but wouldn’t be used in that context or manner. probably a related phenomenon to the way social scientist use language to make what they’re saying sound more academic.
Cool, waste your time with a ‘non-crime hate incident’ report and investigation while the person you are trying to find remains missing if you wish. It seems the priority isn’t even to find the person, but to be seen announcing their allegiance to the dogma.
