Trump is “preparing” by doing nothing at all apart from his usual chaotic stream of blather. He doesn’t know how to prepare; he couldn’t prepare if he tried. All he has, always, is his foul mouth and the foul mind that fuels it. He has an infinite supply of invective and abuse. That’s what he’ll bring to the “debate” – which of course won’t be a debate at all.

This is really going to put a crimp in Trump’s style. It favors focus and discipline over blather and rambling.
Does anybody think that muting his microphone will shut him up? I don’t believe it will; I think that unless he’s in a soundproof box he’ll just carry on ranting and shouting over Biden. And if should be effectively muted he’ll use that to claim that he was not allowed to speak by the biased and conflicted media.
I remember him pacing the stage and hovering menacingly over and behind Hillary Clinton while Clinton was speaking during the 2016 debate. It was creepy and scary. The debaters should be stationary in their own spots, not freely wandering about an open space.
But if he shouts without a working microphone he’ll be inaudible and look ridiculous. He knows that much.
Does he know that much, though? If he had any idea about looking “ridiculous,” he wouldn’t paint himself orange, or wear that stupid, atomic comb-over. With his apparent, accelerating mental decline, is he going to retain what little awareness, if any, that he might have ever had about “self-image”? Captain Bonespurs’ stable genius, tough-guy self image was already horribly distorted. I think AoS is right. He’ll just keep ranting, if only to hear the sound of his own voice his own voice. If he goes off again into shark/battery mode, muting his mike might actually be doing him a favour. Get ready to hire some expert lip-readers!
