More of a connection

“The funny thing is that everything the other side seems to accuse Trump of they’re guilty of themselves,” said Steve Baird, 52, a chief financial officer. “I feel more that Biden seems to be running the country like a dictator with all his executive orders and everything else.
“Trump might be a billionaire but I feel more of a connection, that he’s more of a president for the people and that he’ll follow the constitution more than what the current establishment is doing.”
More of a connection. A president for the people. I bet I know what that is. It’s because Trump is so deeply utterly consistently stupid. That makes him just like the rest of us! Never mind the “glamorous” wives, the solid gold 80 million square feet penthouse, the gorgeous ageless blond hair, the stubby fingers – it’s his slushpool of a brain that makes him the perfect guy to put in charge of the nukes. A president for the people!
Biden (so far) has less than half the number of executive orders than Trump did. Baird feels “connected” because he’s also a wealthy real estate hustler. Man of the people — like hell he is.

twiliter, this is a part of what I’m talking about in the next post. Conservative Movement is much better at selling a feeling and counterfactuals (lies/disinformation) that the fractured and often more honest progressive movement. The CM target audience is often not widely informed, often doesn’t wish to be accurately informed, and rejects being informed. It makes the sales job easier for sure.
Well I’m not going to defend Biden as a good choice either, the whole situation is highly frustrating to me. It’s hard to believe that the next presidential election forces voters (ones who want to vote for an electable candidate anyway) down the same gauntlet as 2020. Two dottering old white guys, one a career politician, and the other a run-of-the-mill moron. I’m not looking forward to the contest or it’s results. It’s going to be (or already is) lose-lose.
