Handing men a bigger stick
Meanwhile, Twitter itself considers it violence or threats or harassment to say that trans women are men and that men don’t experience rape exactly the way women do because men are more physically powerful than women.
Oh surely not. Surely I exaggerate. Don’t I?
This morning I’m in receipt of an email from the Twitter censors telling me:
Your post was detected by our systems and has had its visibility limited for violating the X rules. Specifically:We have determined your post violated our rules against Hateful Conduct. You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease. Ophelia Benson@OpheliaBenson@fran_amery There are no “cis” women. There are only women. “Trans women” are men. Men DON’T experience the exact same thing when raped, because men are more physically powerful than women.
Women are not allowed to say men are stronger than we are and therefore we need some spaces where men can’t follow us. NOT ALLOWED.
And note again, the lack of “sex” in the list of protected demographics and characteristics. It goes without saying that is is gone without saying.
But the main thing you’re not allowed to say is
This is the truly “hateful” thing that must be supressed, the truth that can not, must not be spoken, because if this is accepted and acknowledged, none of the trans “rights” agenda gets off the ground. This is the simple fact that governments and media go so far to bury, because it is fatal to the lie that is the core of trans ideology: that men can be women. Deny that, and all the nonesense falls.
This sort of horse shit is just one of the reasons I stay well away from Twitter, X, or whatever its current moniker is.
And yet I’ve seen very similar statements get through.
It’s possible that your post was detected and censored only because you used the word “raped” instead of “r*ped.” Some of the people I follow have complained about bots being triggered by certain words like “rape,” “suicide,” or — get this — “cis.”
You might want to try posting the exact same thing, this time replacing a vowel with an asterisk. See what happens.
This is why I’m skeptical about Elon’s commitment to combatting the “woke mind virus” or to “free speech”. Seems more and more self serving justification.
Well he can’t monitor all the suspensions and removals and whatnot (can he?) so I assume the commissars get away with a lot that he doesn’t know about.
He’s changed the algorithms sufficiently to make sure more or less Nazi content is prominent; shouldn’t be too hard to turn off the “stomp on TERFs” setting if he’s managed that. He probably just doesn’t give a shit unless he’s directly involved (which is to say, it’s a personal grudge only capriciously applied).
