Embargoed until today
So today there are the WPATH files.
Advocates of gender-affirming care say it’s evidence-based. But now, newly released internal files from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) prove that the practice of transgender medicine is neither scientific nor medical. American Medical Association, The Endocrine Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and thousands of doctors worldwide rely on WPATH. It is considered the leading global authority on gender medicine. And yet WPATH’s internal files, which include written discussions and a video, reveal that its members know they are creating victims and not getting “informed consent.” Victims include a 10-year-old girl, a 13-year-old developmentally delayed adolescent, and individuals suffering from schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses. The injuries described in the WPATH Files include sterilization, loss of sexual function, liver tumors, and death. WPATH members indicate repeatedly that they know that many children and their parents don’t understand the effects that puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries will have on their bodies. And yet, they continue to perform and advocate for gender medicine. The WPATH Files prove that gender medicine is comprised of unregulated and pseudoscientific experiments on children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults. It will go down as one of the worst medical scandals in history.
It’s always the internal files.
Article about the WPAth leak in “The Economist”:

I wonder will “The New York Times”, “The Guardian”, “The Irish Times” and other liberal publications cover this story?
TRA Erin Reed is in full Damage Limitation Mode:
Prominent grifter and climate denialist Michael Shellenberger/EP has released “The WPATH Files,” which was supposed to contain damning info on WPATH.
Instead, we see decontextualized convos of physicians showing caution, networking, and asking one another important questions.

Oh really? So why was there a dramatic fall-off in WPATH membership before these files were leaked, Erin?

FYI, Eliza Mondegreen went to I believe two WPATH conferences and noted how the cracks were showing in their methodology:
The secret life of gender clinicians: Reporting from inside WPATH
Gender-critical feminists were on the WPATH case long before Shellenberger came along.
They all remembered an important engagement elsewhere right at the same time.
Thank you very much for flagging this up. This is huge.
The full set of released material can be downloaded from here.
It’s going to take a while to digest.
What I have not seen mentioned so far is the close involvement in WPath of certain activists with no medical background. For example the well-known transgender activist Stephen Whittle, an academic lawyer, was President of WPath from 2007 to 2009.
“climate denialist Michael Shellenberger/EP has”
From what I have read on EP, calling him a ‘climate denialist’ is highly inaccurate.
At most he might lean toward expecting the low end of plausible amounts of warming.
He does think nuclear power is a big part of the solution. There do seem to be quite a few people who think pushing for anything other than wind & solar is ‘climate denialism’, maybe that’s where Erin Reed is coming from.
Jim Baerg, it may be even simpler than that. He doesn’t believe men can be women, ergo, he is a climate denialist, a racist, and a Nazi. Whatever his views are doesn’t matter, no matter how nuanced or diluted they may be. They seem ready to call anyone who doesn’t swallow trans ideology hook, line, and sinker climate denialists, racists, Nazis, genocidists, whatever strikes their fancy.
The thing is to not analyze what they say, but just commit a strawman fallacy and distract everyone from reality, including what the trans ideology really says and really advocates for. Look, there’s a squirrel!

A NAZI TERF SQUIRREL!

Wrong in one thing, wrong in all things. That’s the intuition they attempt to exploit. She says A, but she also says B, and since B is false, we can dismiss A. It’s obviously fallacious, but no one cares.
